You're the one who made a big deal out of 900 bases worldwide, and turned that into empire building.

Now that the data you latched onto is turning out to be an empty bag, you want to start making it about crony capitalism?...

This is why nobody takes PaulBots seriously for more than about 5 minutes.
 
Depends on where the line is drawn, Dell. This is one of the areas where Libertarians split from Republicans, and it's one where the Paulbots in particular can look as loony as some of the more extreme factions within the Tea Party or the Gaythiests.

Anyone who thinks we can survive with an isolationist policy such as Paul Sr. promoted is fooling themselves. It's that extremism which marginalized him as a candidate. Lots of his other ideas were quite lucid. Foreign policy is where most people I know said, "uh, no thanks."

There's a very real threat of major trading partners becoming part of a caliphate, and if that is allowed to happen, the cascading impact that will have on jobs within our borders will be stunning, and the airline indudstry will be one of the first hurt by it.

BOTH have the desire to subjugate free people. Go back and look at things like FISA (carter), RICO (Carter), NSA, NDAA (Obama) Patriot Act  DHS, TSA (Bush) it's a bipartisan effort to deny you of your Creator given rights. Rights do not come from Government, they come for our Creator.
 
A person only has those rights that they can defend (2nd Amendment)

Empire building?  US servicemen in Western Europe prevented the Soviets from expanding theirs.  Same goes for US troops in South Korea.  Those two places by the way are where the majority of them are stationed.
 
And those numbers are down significantly since the end of the cold war.  The USAF had nine bases in Germany twenty five years ago.  Now it has two.  Hell, the USAF has to get permission from the Germans just to cut down a tree on base. Hardly the hallmarks of an Empire.
 
So I'm sorry if I don't consider telecommunications stations or a rented office suite in some foreign with a handful of personnel bases with combat troops
 
Do we have a Soviet Union today? NO!
 So why any bases. Germany has no trouble historically when it comes to Armies. Let the cost come from THEIER Taxpayers for defense.

I don't live in the Ukraine, so frankly I don't care what happened there. Until a formal Declaration of War is signed they can pound sand. saving 10,000 Ukrainians isn't worth ONE US life or Dollar.

Yet! The Empire building war mongers haven't created an excuse that will fly with enough citizens. We are broke, have to many problems of our own and of our own doing to worry about the Ukraine. 
 
The Ukraine or Russia for that mater isn't worth one drop of a US Citizen Soldier's blood. Let them kill each other and have God sort it out.

And of course I care in a US Citizen Soldier gets so much as a hang nail overseas.

So Western Europe is an extension of the "American Empire"?  So by that definition all the men who died at at Normandy were just a bunch of suckers helping to create an Empire for crony capitalists.  Your words not mine
 
If an American soldier gets killed in action. it's because he/she was Empire building at the behest of Crony Capitalist
