Are you suggesting that people take money from their 401K to put gas in their car? But for me, despite the gas prices, I spent $120 so far this year on gas for my car. That's still on a pace to be significantly more than I paid last year ($345 for the whole year). Yeah...the one upside to that chinese bicycle is this:

Actually, between my pension and social security I don't need to pull money out of my 401K. but did you retire? Because I was responding to your smarmy post about affording gas and the market. I didn't realize airline ramp jobs paid so well that you could fund an IRA AND invest in the markets in order to afford gas for your car

Gas around where I live is at about $4.00 a Gallon. My round trip daily to work cost me about 3/4 a Gallon. So roughly a little over $3.00 a day. Now since it is public anyway I’ll just tell you, I make $40.31 per Hour. So $322.48 per day + maybe here and there a single hour of OT at $60.47.

Does it really sound like I need to sweat paying even $4.00 per day over the $2.79 I was paying before the War?

BTW glad you have all those retirement vehicles. At my Station I hold a meeting with all new hires on the importance of getting started with their 401K’s immediately. I don’t tell them what they should invest in just that they need to invest.

AA has a 5% Contribution 4% Match for TWU Members and an equivalent 5% IAMPF Contribution 4% 401K Match for IAM Members.

Spirit was likely to fail either way. Biden fucked them when his DOJ killed the JetBlue merger. He also fucked American and JetBlue when he killed the NE Alliance that had already been approved under the Trump Administration. Biden and Buttigieg seemed to have a major vendetta against the Airline Industry. That’s the # 1 reason I grew to hate him with a passion. His Administration is what turned me completely away from the Democratic Party. And highly unlikely from what it’s become I’ll ever return.

High Gas ⛽️ prices mostly were not the fault of the Biden Administration although slightly under his Energy policies and rhetoric.

Those higher Gas prices were manageable for me but inflation under his Presidency was extremely high. Supply and demand related but also due to by then his unnecessary stimulus package. The 1st Trump Administration had already burned out the motors on those basement printing presses. Biden didn’t need to repair them so fast. 💨
