Egypt Looking for Change?

I am shocked!

Egypt’s banned Muslim Brotherhood will apply to become a political party, it announced Tuesday.
The Brotherhood “envisions the establishment of a democratic, civil state that draws on universal measures of freedom and justice, with central Islamic values serving all Egyptians regardless of colour, creed, political trend or religion,” it said in the statement.

Although officially illegal, the Muslim Brotherhood is regarded as one of the most organized groups in Egypt.

What could go wrong?

A top Muslim Brotherhood official announced in an interview this weekendthat the organization wants Sharia law in Egypt.
Islam in Europe reported:

Issam Al Aryan, spokesperson of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, said in an interview with VRT that the MB wants to legislate Shariah law, with court supervision, of course.

This stuff was planned as far back as 2008 according to a wikileaks cable I posted earlier. Bush admin had some as yet unidentified student dissident here for coaching via State. So this young fellow Wael apparently was the admin of the internet moves and such. It looks very much like he had valiant motives but I think in the end, it will come out he was used by others for an agenda. He said in the interview he had no agenda, but this thing is a lot bigger than him, and from what I read it is set up to roll on down the road and it looks like it is.

I would say not yet......dictator light maybe....if progressives would have kept both houses and America hadn't woke up to further intrusions into liberty and freedom then I could see it happening.
You have to be able to see the end arounds this administration does on the Legislative and Constitutional processes I hope.
Then you'll say they all do...but that doesn't make it ok.
The closest things we had to tyrants who operated without regard to the Constitution was Woodie Wilson and FDR. Look it up.
Good parallels between the chosen one and Woodie.

Dictator light? What does that even mean?

If you think the current administration is so powerful then why did he bother to go through the legislature to pass health care reform? Could he have not just made it law of the land? As we all know it does not work that way. If the Republicans had controlled congress health care reform would not have seen the light of day.

Go through the legislative process......that was a good one 777..

What was that trick **** move they pulled? I forget it now.....

What are you talking about? The HC bill was published before it was passed so everyone had the opportunity to read it at their pleasure.

I'm sorry...........I fell for 777's hijacking of this thread and turning it into a HC debate.

Lets get back on topic.....

I am pretty sure post #216 and #217 had nothing to do with Egypt. That's OK. I am pretty sure I know where you were going.

I'm sure that statement is facetious.

Haha, on the contrary....im sure he is quite serious. Just another example of liberals "acting stupidly".

Prepare for the onslaught of more stupid statements from them.
