I dont think propping up is the correct terminology. Choosing the lesser of two evils when the alternative is war and unrest more like it. Lack of intervention would have seen continual unrest and war between Israel and the middle east. Should a civilized society just sit back and left the cards fall where they may no matter how many millions are wiped out in the process? At least Egypt helped maintain some peace of mind with Egypt. However it seems those days are gone and the hammer is going to come down hard on Israel as everyone watches...and does nothing....again.

Thats a lot of "what if's" but nothing about "what is." We cant go back and change the past. Somehow thinking that we can retreat into bubble and disregard the world around us is unrealistic. For centuries the only thing guaranteed by man is power, greed, war and taxes. No matter how man evolves in a society there is always someone else who will want more power, etc and will take it at any costs. So by living in a bubble we will insulate ourselves from those that have such ideology? When has that ever worked? There were those that chose the route of appeasement under Hitler, only find the Nazi boot to their necks as a result. What if those that predicted such aggression actually did something as preemption strategy rather a reactive? The writing was on the wall for years that he was amassing a massive army and many feared what eventually happen. Only it turned out to be far worse then they could have ever imagined.

Seventy years ago this week, the British Parliament decided to abandon doing the "right thing." With tacit agreement from the United States, they decided to appease Arabs terrorizing Jewish civilians. Who knows how many hundreds of thousands of Jews could have escaped the Holocaust if they were able to escape to the Holy Land.

Again more "what if's" and no "what is". Don't get me wrong if my decision comes down to Obama or Ron Paul come Nov 2012, Ron will be my vote without hesitation. But I think his foreign policy is more wishful thinking then anything else.

Personally I have no problem with the US gooberment educating the Islamic Community on the horrors of a Nuclear Winter. Just so long as the Commander in Chief has the advice and consent of congress.

If the people of Egypt want to vote in the Muslim Brotherhood that is their right as a sovereign nation. I hope they won't but it's none of our business and there is really nothing we can do unless you want to invade Egypt as well.
