If that's the case then TEXAS didn't abide by the constitution either. THEY made changes because of coronavirus. Should we throw out the Texas results as well? An let the flyover red states join the suit. Hell....all 50 states could join the suit....but it will still get the same result - DENIED.

Or maybe you can help me...where are voting procedures laid out in the constitution? Last I heard, it was pretty much up to the states. Here it is:

The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.


They have to prove that changing voting process because of Covid was unconstitutional. What part of the constitution did they violate? Because saying that the change resulted in an increase in votes for Biden isn't going to carry much weight.

Sorry K.C. but the Constitution doesn't say you have to abide by it except during a pandemic!
 
Insp. One more thing I forgot to add. In Pa the Republican are the ones who created the state law regarding the mail in ballots that can be counted up to 3 days after provided they were postmarked on or before election day. However they could have changed it a year before but did not. Now with that said and despite having Republican lawyers during counts they still are attempting to have SCOTUS overturn it but I think that was shot down. Which now with similar arguments before them from TX suing pa n 3 other states I just personally do not think it's going to have a chance.

I cited the only part of the constitution related to elections, and it's very clear that it's up to the states. Tell me...what do YOU think they will prove?

That's from the US Constitution. Now...if you want the Congress to alter or change the constitution to have elections rules set at the Federal level, then that's something they can work on in the next 4 years. But there is absolutely NOTHING unconstitutional with what these states did.

Just a note....I dug in a little deeper. 17 states have joined Texas...so there are 18 states that are suing to have these four states thrown out since the mail in voting changes were "unconsitutional". But I noticed something kind of funny...of the 18 states in the lawsuit...all of them except Texas, Indiana and Tennessee did the EXACT same thing. So should we throw the results from Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah and West Virginia out? I mean...they did the exact same thing that these four states did. The only difference? Trump won their state. So if it was unconstitutional, then their results should also be thrown out.

K.C1 K,C! That's exactly what they did! The States in question bypassed their own legislatures. The U.S.Constitution states they, and only they, have the power to change election laws in their States! No Governor! Judge! or any other body has that power! No one except that legislature can change election rules in that particular State! And the Constitution does not say that the exception to that is a pandemic!

Many state legislatures give the secretary of state that power. I will be surprised if the Texas case is even heard, although they might to appease the Trumpsters and perhaps keep them from taking up arms, even after the deny the case.

Also, the four states they are suing had mail in voting available to everyone...no excuse required.

Who signed it into law and why didn't he veto it...you know, protecting the citizens from scrupulous infringements of Pennsylvanians rights?

True, but you missed the part where the Sec'y of State moved the goal posts and got slapped down by the courts for changing that law.

I'm too tired to look it up, but I'm going to guess that the governor who signed it is a Democrat. And I ALWAYS wonder why, when Republicans come up with a shitty idea and the Democrat governor/president signs it, it's the Democrats fault when they see how shitty it was.
 
I havent lived in PA since 2008 and the republicans signed it and the gov signed it into law

Ironically all 18 of those states are the ones trump won both the electoral and the popular votes But noticeably absent is Alaska did not join in that frivious lawsuit
