Hate to break it to you guys, but UPNAWAY is NOT a policymaker/exec in Tempe or he would have NEVER made this comment with everyone coming up on negotiations.
Why not DP already did in the crew news with a twist the company is making money because management is not paying industry wages
Sounds like a mouthpiece for management

DP said the company needs the money to pay workman’s compensation injury claims

The PHX F/A in the crew news made a good point about paying the fee and the company not being responsible for the bag lost/deliver/damage

Just goes to show you that US management is not ashamed to reach into anyones pocket.

I rarely see non-revs check more than two bags. This is just nickle and dimeing the employees.

Of course, management flies space positive, and I would wager they are exempt from the bag fees.

We all know what's around the corner. A small convenience fee for Employee Travel. Other airlines do it, right?
Non Rev will be a term of the past.
REV REV REV

Actually, I wouldn't have a problem with a USD 50 anual fee for fee waived travel. Better than having parents pay USD 25 plus tax each time.

As far as bag fees go, I can see paying for over weight bags (poor rampers). But being able to check the occaisonal 3rd bag for free is a perk that should saty.

The company should have the same respect for their employees as the military. At least offer the same discount.I guess the employees have to subsidizes the company for over weight/excess bags the military check

Just took a ski trip to the swiss ALPS. connected in PHL To ZRH...

bags didn't show up for 3 days... An awful expensive trip with no ski equipment... checked in on time.. Not sure why the bags didn't make it...
Was pretty bad when I had to tell my 17 year old we might have to go home if bags don't show....

Bags didnt' make it on the connection home either ... both had over 2 hours between flights..

and how does the bag tracking work? nobody could tell us anything about where the bags where? and the bag service office was not very informative.

Question... we started wondering... because we have about 4 Grand worth of ski equipment etc with us... Is there a way to buy insurance for non rev bags?
either with US or some other company for these type trips when expensive equipment is shipped?

thanks

As a NRSA you get nothing. No compensation. No payout for unrecovered bags. Nada zip nothing. Maybe home owner insurance or travel insurance. Now if you are allow traveling positive space as management you entitle to everything

An estimated 10,000 bags a day are lost through the airlines. Although many of these are recovered, EZFind's luggage tags make it easy for baggage personnel to locate you through EZFind while protecting your identity.

The globalbagtag system enables your bags to be identified & traced worldwide. All your personal details are stored securely online and not openly displayed on your bag, protecting you against identity theft and vacation burglary. As well as your name and address details you can enter details of your travel itinerary and local contact details so if your bag goes missing on the outward trip we can send it to your current location so your holiday or business trip is not ruined.

but I was looking thru the travel guide. Kids age 23 and under don't have to be full time in school for pass benefits now? IS that correct.
they just have to be kids 23 and under?

That is such a bummer. Of all of the non revving, ski trips are the most problematic. I made the decision not to invest in skis and boots because of it. There is just too much of a risk of losing it when you non rev. I spend a lot in rentals, but at least it's there. I've even gotten better with cutting down on the amount of stuff I need, cutting the amount of bag checking too. It may sound paranoid, but if I have a connection, with ski trips, I don't check the bag through either. I leave the family inside the terminal, go to baggage claim, and recheck it at the desk. I don't know if that helps my odds, but so far it has worked. Ski trips are expensive and not having bags can all but ruin them.

How was skiing in the alps?

Hi, thanks for the post, the skiing was fantastic. We went to Grindelwald Switzerland... Probably the most beautiful place I have been. It is very expensive but it's a trip we have been planning for a long time. Next time I'll probably FED EX the skis.....

thanks!
