Ex-piedmont Remember Don Mcguire?

He could not possibly be more correct.. Sounds like a real sharp guy, and Im not shocked he left the industry... I bet he was well liked by his subordinates.

Don was a very sharp guy at PI. As I recall, he was a VP in charge of marketing programs. I guess he is living the good life in AZ now.

IIRC, Don was communication director.

He certainly had a front row seat to the merger, and his assessment of thePI/US merger is correct.

I fear he will be proven right on the HPUS merger, as well.

He is not going to "save" this combined airline to prosperity. Instead, his management must come up with a combined plan that will maximize revenues. Once he has abandoned all the contracts and leases that US Airways can shed because of its bankruptcy status, savings will be more and more illusory.

When he talks about remaining a low-fare carrier, it frightens me and should frighten employees of both airlines. That's where the last drop of blood will be wrung from the turnips the merger harvests.
like usa320pilot always sez....you heard it first from me......
