What's new

Executive appointments

I'm glad to see that they've put inflight under flight operations. I never understood f/a's being under marketing. Maybe Capt Ed will leave us crewed together, it is vastly superior than separate pairings for pilots and f/a's (I've done it both ways).

All of these execs assuming more responsibility, and presumably more money.

In these cost neutral days who would be accepting less responsibilty and less money?

The total cost will probably go down, since there is now 1 fewer executive.

When did Al Crellin become CHIEF Operating Officer?????

Mike Minerva Vice President of Legal????

Oh brother.
Things never change at USAirways...just keep promoting and recycling the same scums  in the airline.

Doug Parker you are beyond words, beyond belief.

How in the world can you keep Al Crellin employed...

Open your eyes Doug. Al is not an honorable, decent man. The operations of this airline is far worse than anyone could imagine. Didn't Al and Donna fix Philly. They told us so.

It's just a matter of time.

I've said it before. These appointments continue to reinforce what I've said. There is no expertise running this airline. No leadership. DP doesn't get it.

Crelin and Bular do not belong in these positions. They are not capable. They have proven it. I can't speak to the legal guy but a lawyer is a lawyer. What else needs to be said.

Nothing's changed. Except the pay rates and work rules.

pilot

Big pay raises all around, I'm sure.....or at least mucho stock options, at nifty strike prices. That way Dougie can say he didn't give anyone BIG raises, just enough raise to give them market rates........and then 2mill. in stock options...

Meanwhile, he looks at pay cuts for other groups.....while calling it...no no no.....it's cost neutral, because that's the way I see it in my reality. (I want some of what he's smoking)

You know I can't help but wonder why such venom is directed towards ONE person at US Airways? As time has passed I can't help but wonder why Al Crellin is the focal point of the rage on these boards?

Is it because when you work for him you're held accountable? I don't know I'm asking?

Is it because of his personality? I've never met the man.

The guy clearly has some skills. Having worked in larger corporations I know first hand that many people are promoted for myriad reasons, but sooner or later the goofballs are found out and off they go. Not so to date with Mr Crellin. So what gives?

1. The Happy Hatchet man - he likes it.

2. The results. You yourself say the only big thing US has done right is survive, which you attribute to Lakefield. For all the things that have gone wrong at U, why not hold somebody accountable?

3. The employees. You give them credit for doing a great job faced with formidible odds. Well, give them credit for some sense, too. Do you not find it telling that not ONE single line animal takes up for the man? They deal with him. Contrast the man's reception with the troops with what Kelleher and Sinegal get from their guys, or what Davis got from his guys.

4. Davis, Kelleher and Sinegal were/are secure enough to hire managers worthy of respect. PI had, with a few exceptions, solid guys right on down to the supervisor level, guys and gals who earned your respect. In AC's shop, the quality of supervision deteriorated to the point agents wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire.

Now Bob, you are connected enough to know this. And a bright guy.

Pot stirring?

PS: US has been, and apparently is, the exception to your rule of winnowing out the chaff.

Best I can figure is, good photography skills. 😉

The other day I had to go up to the 9th floor to drop something off to Travis, and as soon as I got off the elevator Kirby was standing there and was looking at me like I had 6 heads like I wasn't supposed to be up there or something. Just because I don't rake in anything close to what you make doesn't mean I can't come up there! B)

Which one?

The dead one, moron.

It has nothing to do w/ your pay level. If you were a blonde w/ a nice rack you would have been welcomed w/ open arms...
