The ballot will let flight attendants choose one of three options:
• Keep the underfly rule in the current contract, which runs through 2006.
• Substitute a change in the length of the duty day, or how long flight attendants can be at work in a day by the airline. That change would force the potential furlough of 208 flight attendants.
• Substitute a change in sick pay and a smaller change in the duty day rules, a move that would result in the potential furlough of 309 flight attendants.
The APFA will implement the top choice among 25,000 flight attendants, said spokesman George Price. Voting will take place over 30 days.
