The more the merrier....AA and "feeders" have their hands full, no worries.

Since when were we ever trying to "protect" the STL hub? Seems to me, as an SLT f/a, that the company has been giving up routes to others.

GLUX has been a Frontier codeshare operator for several years, but I wouldn't get too excited about ZK's services... Right now, the bulk of their operation is flying 19 seat B1900's into subsidized markets.

What markets are they going to be operating in? or are they just going to be putting the F9 code on flights they already operate? Didn't they pick up some of the J-31 routes that the carrier (I forgot their name) that stopped flying lost when they got their certificate pulled or when bankrupt?

Air Midwest kinda does the same thing in MCI they operate as an express carrier for US Airways but they also have the code for Midwest on their flights too. I guess when your operating EAS routes it makes sense to list your flights on as many connections as possible.

They're showing up in the OAG as operating STL-TBC (Fort Leonard Wood), BRL (Burlington, IA), and MCI. MCI is a positioning flight to connect to the rest of their network, so any passengers they manage to carry are pure profit because they have to move the aircraft for maintenance routings. GLUX flies to a dozen or so EAS cities in KS, NE, SD, CO, WY and ND, with most of their routings starting or ending in DEN and MCI.

I guess Chuck Howell just found out that as an American Connection carrier you must:

1. All flying MUST be branded as AmericanConnection unless preauthorized by Eagle
2. Airlines flying as AmericanConnection may NOT operate independent services out of AmericanConnection properties - meaning no shared ticket counters or gate spaces. They also do not like pro-rate carriers flying other services out of cities in which they fly as the AA code.

for example, RegionsAir was prohibited from flying the IDOT Midway flying because the 3 markets were serviced by 3C to St. Louis

3. All AmericanConnection flights MUST be nonstop except for irrops.

Great Lakes has secretly "promised" the recent Kansas City awards that they will fly to DFW as AA connection. problem is, Eagle doesn't want 19 seaters in DFW when they can be flying the market with their Saabs, and most of the Kansas markets require tag-on flights - meaning 1 and 2 stops. Mesa has been trying for ages to convert the DFW ops into AA code, to no avail. Their VP of Planning is a former Eagle Executive.....

4. All AmericanConnection markets are managed by AA - as a pro rate carrier you can set the fares, but that's about it.

How about this STL-SPI starts NOV 4th.2 flights a day AX 50 seaters.
