FA TA voted down

The people who barl like pitcow must have a high credit card balance and a low credit score becasue thats the way she chooses to run her wittle house hold but its not the way to run a buisness..but do not listen to me watch...learn watch whut happens....

It amazes me how many poor people working on poverty wages here choose not to find another job that doesnt.... Whats yup wit dat??? ROFL

Perhaps they stay here because they lack the ability to form a coherent sentence, sans typos, on their resume. :huh: 😛

There's nothing funny about people struggling. Most of the FA's that I know who are living on poverty wages started within the last 6 years...knowing it would be rough for a while, but with the belief that they would be getting a merged contract with better wages in a reasonable amount of time. These people do a good job, work every day they can, pick up trips on their days off, and use their vacation time to pick up trips, just so they can get by. They stay because they like the job, they enjoy the travel benefits (when they can afford to take a day off to use them), and they are insured. And in this economy, it's just not so easy to quit a job and find a new one. These are flight attendants I am proud to know.
 
ROFL Our union is not in a good place...We can yell beat or strike...at the end of the day the company is ran like your budget at home...If the monies arent there then you dont spend what you dont have! Am i missing something? Am i the only one who understands buisness 101? By the time we get a contract and 6 grand later we will have lost money!!!! I think the "pitcow" comment was uncalled for. US is doing pretty well bottome line wise and it's long past time tfor the workers to share the benefits of DP's financial savvy. That's the purpose of a union, ensuring a fair share. The share currently is unfair and it needs to be addressed.
 
Here is how US Airways could have fixed the problem: Give a pay raise, 'a-la-pay-parity' to the west flight attendants from the get-go. In fact, if US Airways (aka America West) would have given a pay raise to the west, they would not have had to worry about negotiating a new contract for the combined group to begin with, which in turn gives a pay raise to every single one of the F/As on premise. I believe that doing so would have been the cheapest alternative to a 40 mill+ a year contract. Wonder why US didn't think of that, but then, I wonder why US didn't think about going after NWA, as an alternative to DL. That would've totally derailed DL's plan to go after NW. But what gives? US always has a solid plan, not?

LIKE I SAID BEFORE though, US AIRWAYS (AKA AWA) has the ability to make things right if they truly want to. The problem is that they are sadistic enough that they enjoy the west F/As in this position. It's the only way for management to keep a grip on PHX, since they obviously don't have that well of a grip on the entire east side of things.

I think that US Airways execs really are enjoying this whole drama and division, and could give a rats a... about any struggling AWA F/As.

This contract was worth $40 million. That's $8 million a year for 5 years...but let's be realistic ... As far as I'm concerned, we ARE the EDUCATED.

USAirways got Pref bid, scope, "me too, for absolutely nothing. You waited 10 years for a $40 million $$ contract????? over 5 years. US Airways f/as gave hundreds and hundreds, and hundreds of millions of $$$ in the past 10 years. To get back 8 million a year is a joke.

And told the members how much cost savings thethe AFA never company got for pref bid, scope, and "me to" and separating from the pilots.

PitCow seems nicer than a bull....Either way Neither has common sense...I find it funny so funny that these same people whine and complain about how bad it is here and NOW we use that its the job market and the economy that prevents them from searching out new employment...Whats the excuse for the last 10 years?? The company offered twice a fair contract that the union agreed was either fair or as far as the company would or could do... The company has a budget plain and simple. If we break the budget we go back to the courts yet again. I for one do not want that! The majority voted down the contract now everyone must live with it. No complaining no whining. They werent happy in the eighties they werent happy in the nineties and now still not happy! Yet they still choose to work for this horrible unfair company.. Poor things...Watch...learn ..listen and see what happens....Whut up wit dat ?

There WAS scope in the TA that was voted down. Go to OurAFA.org...there's plenty of information about the scope, how it was based on the current east scope, and added additional protections and LPP's.
