How many do they put out in a "normal" month?
What's your definition of "normal"?
Everything is "crisis management".
I never thought the slides would make a damn bit of difference in a water landing. Then along came US1549.

There is a difference between the slides on the MD80 and the slide/rafts on the flight 1549 Airbus. The A320 was EOW equipped, so it had slide/rafts at the 4 doors which become rafts after being detached from the aircraft. Being double width with 2 inflated tubes around the perimeter, people can sit inside the slide/raft and it has all the ditching equipment of a raft.
A normal slide would be a flotation device to hold on to, but nothing more.

Talk about putting the "spin" on things. 11 slides were found with broken hoses. They would not have inflated if they had to be used. This was the subject of eco K3389AC. Those faulty slides were replaced, but now there is a new slide eco out (K3394) that concerns what 767 mechanic is talking about. Apparently there is some AD on these slides that was not complied with and now all the tail cone slides have to be checked for compliance with this AD.
Princess thanks for comfirming that the info that I was given was accurate. Do you have any info on the AD? I guess skippy does not know as much as he or she thinks they know. I guess this confirms that this individual is in management, company stooge or bubba believer. Oh are you still in stores Judy?????????
Yep, apparently Mikey got the axe, at least for now. We all now how management will rehire these "talanted" people as "consultants" at a later date.Heard a rumor that TWU 514 traitor Michael Jackson has been fired over this slide issue. Can anyone at "THE ROCK" confirm this?
Not only that, if you tried to use a tailcone slide in a ditching you'd better have your Aquaman costume on.
