The East contracts could be enforced because we fly under the US certificate.First of all the Railway Labor Act is a Federal Law, not an Arizona law.
If a single carrier status ruling is done, he could impose the CBA.

Yes, I worked at the airport and knew how to do it. We never did, but it IS possible. It is NOT possible to change date of hire. The computer stores it.
So if this is true, WHY are they blowing smoke up everyone's butt by saying they are deciding which to do? Sounds like a done deal to me. I'm in favor of DOH but state the facts and be done with it.
We need to unite to get the contract we ALL deserve.
Hi my first time ever responding to a forum but after 32 years in the industry, regardless of what format the Company chooses, the standby list can be played with, I witnessed first hand when I worked at the gate, an agent put his mother ahead of a f/a to get her out and this is DOH He was caught and suspended for 3 days as he should be but my point is regardless of DOH or FCFS anyone should have access to the standby list on their PC. I Know AA and DL display their standy list on the Monitors at the gate. So this is something I would highly recommend to keep everyone honest. I m a registered guest on AA and this feature is part of their listing checkin process and it s great. Just my opinion ThanksI work in the West and want DOH boarding, I don't like the Gate Agents having control of who goes first. Lists can be changed. I vote DOH!!!!
It is difficult to cheat with DOH without doing something totally blatant. A group of F/As were fired about ten years ago for hiding a uniformed F/A (pretending that he was a part of the working crew). He could not non-rev because every single seat was full, including the jumpseats. He sat in the Lav.
Ah, the good old days. I can remember having as many as 4 non-revs in the cockpit of the 727. But back then nobody raised an eyebrow, including the agent.

Dont forget the 3 lavs were full too !![]()
Yup, the good old days. I've flown cockpit jumpset, f/a jumpseat and sat in the lav on a through stop when they did a through count check. 🙂Ah, the good old days. I can remember having as many as 4 non-revs in the cockpit of the 727. But back then nobody raised an eyebrow, including the agent.

1lcc, I agree 100%..I work in the West and want DOH boarding, I don't like the Gate Agents having control of who goes first. Lists can be changed. I vote DOH!!!!
It sounds like a lot of manipulation can be done either way. At least .with FCFS . .when you check in online, you know where you stand at that time within your priority. If you were #2 when you checked in, but then 5 employees get on before you at departure time . you have something ammuntion to question that stauts. With FCFS, once you check in, you ALWAYS knw where you stand within your priority. Not so with DOH--someone more senior can always list & check in for that flight.1lcc, I agree 100%..
I work in the east, and even under the DOH method, I've seen some sleazy [buddy-buddy]deals occur at the gate.
I can imagine FCFS would do nothing but make the boarding list manipulation worse.
