"The issue at hand is AAs attempt to sell a ticket at a discounted price to its employees. When in fact it is not a discount at all."

No, the issue at hand is your own flagrant hypocriscy. I'm soory, but two dollars is not an "issue".

"I posted a link to an article. Didnt notice any complaining about outsourcing though."

Then why did you even bother to post the acticle? I'm guessing you did not post it because you disagreed with it. Most people don't do that. So which is it TFC? Do you agree with the article, disagree or really don't care one way or the other? This begs the question, do you care about AMT's jobs being outsourced to other countires? Or is it as I suspect, you really don't.

Here's something else I dug up.

But they love our money.

It wont be long before they start doing a B Check on the first Aircraft that RON there.

This was on the "New China Route And Outsourcing, Can this route open the door?" thread. I take it by the frowing face and thumbs down icon you're not to crazy of the prospect of checks being done there.

Spring Break Calender

Out of about 3-4 million college students, only about 44k have April spring break.

If you're gonna act so authoritatively about such trivia, the least you could do is read your own incomplete source correctly; the obviously incomplete chart you linked (it doesn't contain all colleges) shows about 350k students on Spring Break during April 2-6 (which is April, is it not)?

Of course, most colleges schedule Spring Break during March. But plenty of schools schedule it to coincide with Easter.

But back to the topic: I agree with the correct charge of hipocrisy against the OP. Acting out of self-interest is often something union members criticise when they see others do it. But when it comes to spending one's own money, the OP takes the "me, me, me" approach. Just like the greedy bastard Republicans so often criticised by the Dumb Ass Democrats. I'm often hypocritical - but unlike the OP, I'm willing to admit it.

Maybe Time For Change should consider flying Southwest from ISP to FLL. It appears that they have a $99 fare (plus taxes, etc.) for the date he wants to go; this way he gets a positive space low fare while simultaneously supporting those highly paid, unionized, Southwest-AMFA mechanics that he admires so much.

 Excellent Suggestion!

But if your advice were followed the OP couldn't complain about how his employer was screwing him by charging more than the non-union LCC.

So you are telling me that everything that I purchase in my lifetime should be a union product. Or are you saying only the obvious choices such as a jet blue ticket.

You could not be held to the same practice yet you exspect anyone who is pro union to do it.

Believe it or not, I try to buy American made whenever possible, even when it costs me a few bucks more.

I might not subscribe to the union mentality or philosophy, but while I may not agree with their opinions, I do have the utmost respect for people like Ken, Bob and Dave (just to name a few) who actually follow their convictions with regard to what unionism is about, and don't just put on appearances.

Really dont want the stop over in TPA

According to Southwest's website, for April 23rd, they have 3 non-stops from ISP to FLL, they are:

Flight 1625 departs 6:35am arrives 9:40am.
Flight 518 departs 12:45pm arrives 3:55pm.
Flight 2617 departs 7:50pm arrives 10:55 pm.

Go to Southwest.com, click on schedules, and go from there.

Cheap fares are sold on on the nonstops; the only flights where the $99 is still available are the TPA connections.

The OP is travelling April 23rd, to call it Spring Break is just incorrect. There is no way to argue the point, it is at least a month away from "traditional spring break" and 10 days from any spring break whatsoever.

You should. Lots of business travellers choose AA over WN or Jetblue even if it costs a bit more. Regardless of what is said on this board, in general, AA union and non-union employees handle their job in a consistant and professional manner. As a frequent flyer I appreciate that and am willing to pay more for that service.

But you don't care if the guy working on the plane you are about to get on is union or even in this country. So I guess you would have no problem taking a flight on NWA.

I must not because I am flying Jet Blue

Never ceases to amaze me. You talk a good game about but in the end it's all about you and screw everyone else. You've so much as admitted it. What's even more amazing is that you care about who's delivering to your local grocery store but not about who's been working on the plane you are about to get on.

Well at least you finally admit your hypocrisy. That could be considered a first step. Not that you will learn anything from it. Guys like you usually never do.

Trust me, the next time you go on a rant about how AMT's are getting shafted I'll be sure to point this all out to everyone.

By the way, you did not really answer my question. Do you care about AMT's jobs being outsourced to other countires? Or is it as I suspect, you really don't.

It is so hypocritical to want union pay, work rules and protection but refuse to even support the company you work for. Only you have made a ridiculous point of trying to buy fruit only delivered by union drivers.
You could not be held to the same practice yet you expect anyone who is pro union to do it.
I am pro union and I do it. I am not on this board expecting AA to raise my pay to what it was return all work rules to what they were. Then first chance I get throw revenue to the non union competitor who sends there planes outside the US to be maintained.

Its not screw everyone else its screw AA. They have been screwing me so now I would rather give my money to someone else other than AA.

My point about the grocery store is your outrageous rant about buying everything in life that is union. Just because the produce guy is non union doesnt mesn I am not going to buy my grocerys there. Where do you draw the line. A plane ticket well good for you.

You point out what ever you have to I will get buy just fine...

As far as outsourcing goes I am against it but big business isnt.
I have said it before the only reason AA doesnt do it is because it is cheaper and mor profitable to do it in house.
Especially at the twu wage scale

It is so hypocritical to want union pay, work rules and protection but refuse to even support the company you work for. Only you have made a ridiculous point of trying to buy fruit only delivered by union drivers.

When the twu starts to support its members and bring us out of 1980 wages I will think about supporting them

I am pro union also.
I am glad you dont exspect anything from the twu because that is exactly what you are going to get.
This isnt the first chance I have had to throw money at a non union competitor. But when the ticket price that is supposedly a discounted ticket price for employees is actually not. I would rather give the money to someone else.

😉
