follow delta's lead

What does politics and calling our President names have to do with US Airways Miles?

Don't bother focusing on the issue. Instead attack the person. Must be a Democrat!

I leave for a business trip and it was a last minute thing. A $1,387.00 ticket, great revenue for any airline since the largest plane is a CRJ-900. So given my so called obsession and a $72.00 price advantage I booked US right? WRONG! it seemed Delta was ready when I was and they got the premium priced ticket. I don't live near the fortress hub of PHL any longer so I connect pretty much wherever I go so now have option including WN if need be. Now US doesn't get the business automatically.

This year is a year I'm foregoing status as I'm in the process of evaluating vendors and when one begins to compare, US falls short when compared to WN, UA/CO. DL & F9. Right now if I had to pick today on my key criteria that includes Star Alliance UA wins hands down. If I'm willing to give up Star benefits then F9 wins by a landslide.

See even though we live in the Democratic Peoples Republic of Barrackistan, I can still pick my carrier, just as DP can choose to run his company & personal life as he sees fit, I just refuse to blindly fund his conduct any longer. I'm also free to comment as I see fit in a forum of my choosing.

Don't like it?? Don't read it!

So, you ask me to focus on issue, call me a name, then blame Obama.

Yeah, you are sane....

😀

OK, Boy Genius, where did I specifically blame Obama for anything?

A silly joke calling you a Democrat is name calling? Heck I'm a Libertarian or if you like a Ron Paul Republican, if that makes you feel better. Slings and Arrows are my life until recently. As fir name calling I think "Democrat" is far less offensive than insane?

So why am I insane? Because I have an opinion different than yours? Because your Neo-Fascist Conservatism doesn't resonate with me? That I find your blatant hatred of unions to be offensive? That I question your blind allegiance to the current regime at US? Heck the Hitler Jungen where more open minded that you are when it comes to Parker & Kirby and their ilk.

Just as a refresher the issue is US following DL's lead regarding expiration of miles. DL's move is customer friendly, US policy is not. Simple really don't you think? So I ask you to give us your opinion of DL's move and if/how US should respond. That sane enough for you?

I'll add my two cents since they might be relevant here.

My last US Airways miles expired about a year ago. I tried to keep them alive by going the magazines-for-miles route, but apparently I didn't make it in time, mea culpa. However, my response was logical -- as US Airways no longer provided me a benefit for maintaining a Dividend Miles account, I requested that they fully purge my account along with my personal information (this apparently requires a special request). And, I no longer receive credit card solicitations from US Airways' credit card issuer.

So, in the end, the airline did incur a cost -- the labor required to respond to my request to delete my account -- and in addition has foregone revenue from selling my name to third parties. They have also made it less likely that I will choose to use their services in the future.

Don't go making sense the koolaide drinkers heads will explode. LOL!
The bottom line in all of this is that until it becomes cheaper to treat customers well, the current regime will continue its role as the Mongol Horde of Fees. Remember charging for Coke? They did that until their precious spreadhseets told them what everyone here already knew regarding the decision.

I swear to God that the crowd in Tempe couldn't spell CAT if you spotted them the "C" & "T", without first building a spreadsheet that showed that the highest probabability was that the vowel was an "A"!

Want to know why WN is better? I mean really better? Because of one man Herb Kelleher. His vision, Leadership and overall Business Acumen took a four plane airline from the brink of oblivion to the darling of the industy. Darling or Laughing Stock? Take your pick.

A cheap way to recharge your miles is to go on the usair shopping pages.I bought from bestbuy a 2gb sd card for $7.95 with free shipping.I will wait till usair drops the processing fee or when they are taken over by another carrier, but I feel with either development,I will have a long wait.
