I flew today out of PHL and connected in CLT.
PHL was BUSY this morning at 6:45am with traffic backed up to the entrance road Arrivals/Departures split. Took about 10 minutes to make it from there to the B concourse drop-off lane. Check-in took no time because the 4 people in front of me in the First line were told by the agent they were in the wrong place if they were flying coach and were sent on their way. Security at B concourse was just starting to back up out of the stanchions, but there was a Preferred line open.
Full 767 to Charlotte (the flight that NEVER runs on time because they don't tow the plane to the gate until departure time... probably couldn't find a working tug) and CLT was crowded, though nearly every gate had "First Class Avail" listed on the gate board, even a 757 bound for Orlando.
All of my flights this Thanksgiving were full in coach, but less than 50% full in First.
Thanks to all the US Airways employees who worked their holiday so that I could see my family.
