What's new

Former TWA 757s

<_< ---- Since your a management type, I assume you hold a higher priority pass than just a D1?

Don't I wish.... L8's and above get higher priority, the rest of us L5's and L6's roll the dice with D1 and D2.

AMFAMan, I don't know how you can't afford to buy a ticket these days, although I agree that if you're taking kids along it is a different story.

For about $200 RT you can get to most places, and it means a real vacation, as opposed to hoping you get on the flight out, and cutting the trip short by a day (or more) hoping you get back.

<_< ------Isn't there a thing called AA20? I've heard something about a discounted "positive space" ticket? 😉

<_< ----- Mr. Former ModerAAter, Your totally correct! I should have qualified that statement! I do apologize! I should have said, Your front line people show a high degree of professionalism to wards the flying public, our customers! But, their total lack of sensitivity toward their piers at TWA during, and after, the buyout shows one and all the true underlaying attitude of aa and it's Unions!
I was at a TWA 25% station for a few years. When the buyout happened, some of the old timers cried, pissed and moaned about their not getting full seniority. When told about our AMR Eagle crossovers not getting full seniority, it was still; "Well, that's their fault, we want our seniority! They weren't happy they got to keep working for a few more years than they would have, nope.

I wish one could carry or transfer seniority to different carriers, but that's not they way it is. No one I know of likes the situation with MCI and TWA in general. After the 2nd bankrupcy, many TWA workers bailed, we have a few at AA. They saw the writting on the wall I surmise. The only attitude I have seen is the one coming from unhappy TWA workers, and the complaining got real stale about three years ago. Be upset with your management team and greedy Uncle Carl, not AA or its employees. 😉

There are also a bunch who bailed in the early 90's and more in December, 2000 after the pension went to the PBGC - some agreement TWA had with the iam to allow the pension to fail outside of BK. Of course those mechanics hired in December, 2000 are now on the street.

<_< ----- I doubt it! If their half worth their salt, I'm sure their working for someone else! I personally know a few that went to work for FedEx in the 90's! Best move they could have made! But you roll the dice, and have to live with what you get! In our case it's the TWU! 😉
