Why do Fleet Clerks keep getting the aircraft off of the gates on time. Please keep in mind I work at a maintenance base so I have little line experience. Those aircraft should be leaving late EVERY day. The company has (and will) cut headcount and we still get them off the gate on time. We should use the drop in headcount as an excuse to slow roll every one of these aircraft. I have even heard of crew cheifs going out and loading bags.

All I can ask is WHY. This is only making it easier for the company to keep cutting.

This reminds me of that scene in Liar Liar when Jim Carrey is in the bathroom beating himself up. A man comes in and witnesses it and ask "What the hell are you doing?" to which Jim Carrey responds ""Im kicking my a**, do you mind?".

Why are we kicking our own rears? Its not like the company stooges and corrupt government needs our help.

Confused.

These are stressful times, full of dread, fear, and uncertainty. Just stating the obvious, and not making excuses for the hitters. Everyone has a measure of BK Stress Syndrome, and we as individuals respond to stress differently. Mgmt is applying more bird-dogging pressure in drooling anticipation of applying sweeping new strict LBO work rules. Of course there will be a huge demand for more supervisors to inforce those rules.

Will supervisor hats be ordered in super large sizes to accomodate their swelling craniums?

What is the real reason that we are kicking our own asses? Lack of effective leadership?

just another reason to vote NO.

You need to delete your comment, you are advocating a slow down and AA has gone after people on the internet before, the web page the-mechanic.com was subeonaed from AA after a similar posts.

Who cares? AMR is the 1984 newspeak for Big Brother. They want to control your life at work and outside of work. They want to be the thought police. I am not on the clock right now and I will not be intimidated by AMR and have them dictate to me what I can and can't say. I am not committing libel and I have a first amendment right to free speech.

People will say we have a contract that forbids advocating a slow down. I say when has AMR honored their contracts. They use fear, intimidation (2003), and bogus BK filings (2012) to modify language. They don't follow their own agreements so why should I? I have seen the company not honor seniority and shoe horn people into shops. I have seen under the table transfers granted. I have seen policy change from day to day to suite managements whims. No sir, AMR does not even follow the contract.

They think so much of our contract they want to void it.

I don't speak for TWU. I am about to be laid off. If they really want to waste time and money coming after me let them.

I will be just one more statistic under AMR's boot. Just one more of the many that AMR has stepped on to get where they are today.

Let me educate you:

First off all the First Amendment only applies to the government restricting your speech, a company can and will restrict what you say and you can be disciplined up to termination. Look at Dennis, he is removed from service?

Second, your CBA has language prohibiting a slowdown as does the company's rules and regulations, many an employee has been disciplined up to termination for such acts.

Third, AA, US, UA and NW have sued unions and won TROs and injunctions for slowdowns.

And it doesnt matter if your not on duty, go ask people what happened with AA and the-mechanic.com for the same type of posts.

Was Dennis on Duty? Was the flight attendant who got terminated for his web postings on duty?
Nope.

And if you are terminated you lose your severence and other things your entitled too per your CBA.

I am just trying to help you, you obvisously dont know the ramifications of what you posted.

I hear that Dennis got his job back.....

Do you work safely? Follow the rules they've written.

Don't have two wing walkers? The plane doesn't move.
Equipment lacking headlights, windshield wipers? Put it out of service.
Headset no good? Get another one.No hand signals at dusk, daybreak or in the rain.
No wands? Plane doesn't move.

They can't bang you for working safely.

Vote No.

Great post. There is no need to ask for a slow down.....just work safely as JFK FSC said. I'd like to add to his list1) Space bags out on the conveyor belts. This stops bags from falling off the sides or piling up at the end of the belt. It is a big safety hazard.2) The rollers on the dolly's. If a single or double is missing any....tag it for out of service. 3) Carts. No curtains or ripped curtains...Tag it for out of service.4) Using dolly's in place of a cart....Don't do it.

Once the judge subpoenas the website on AMR's behalf then the government is involved with suppression of free speech.

Second, how many times has AMR asked us to work in unsafe conditions and with unsafe equipment to get their aircraft out.

How many times have they understaffed ground workers, asked people to move aircraft with 1 wing walker, and asked the lavatory guy to back up with no guide man? Truth be told, this company ask us to look the other way all the time. If we actually followed AMR's own safety regulations the ramp would grind to a halt.

They violate the contract every time they violate work rules. Where is our justice for those infractions?

By the way I know.... I just do not care. My anger has overshadowed any fear I have of being disciplined. This situation just makes me sick.

You think the longshoremen would put up with this s**t. Your warning is just a reminder of how weak we as a UNION and a people have gotten. We have gone from fighting for our rights to tucking our tail between our legs and swallowing whatever garbage Corporate America and the government wants to shove down our throats.

We can't even strike because the government says we can't. How weak is that?

Did he even lose it, or was he just sent to the penalty box with pay?....
Penalty box with pay, probably, with a first or second step advisory. That's all HR can really do that will stick.

The "union" can forget to tell him the grievance proceedure and get it stopped that way, making him serve out the time for being a bad boy.

I doubt the advisory would survive a grievance. He was in his uniform, but in his house, on his own time. I'd be surprised if they did anything more than document a CR-1 about how he's been warned not to go postal...

The government is not restricting freedom of speech when a private company has rules in place and you break them. There is plenty of legal precedence proving this.

You are comparing apples to oranges, this isnt about what AA does, its about you promoting an illegal slowdown.

There is a grievance procedure, file a grievance, that is the proper recourse for a contract violation, and if AA is operating in an unsafe manor call the FAA.

You seem to have plenty of excuses and keep deflecting the reality of the situation.

You cant strike because you work under the RLA and the procedures are quite clear on how the process works, but I guess you dont know that, how long have you been at AA?

I never said it was fair, I was just pointing out the ramifications of your original post.
