What's new

Fun contest! Guess where NWA's next "incident" will be!

It's a simple process of coiling the tubes back up with the mask and placing them back in the bin and shutting the flap. That is providing no one pulled the string, which releases a pin activating the oxygen generator. In this event the generator must be replaced. It can be very time consuming though just because of the shear number of them.

He forgot the last part of the scab mx manual. "If the door doesn't latch, just put a small piece of tape on it to hold it shut".

Here's a fun one.

Not sure it counts as a winner yet, as I haven't seen any articles published on it, but.....

Flight 218 HNL-PDX on the 13th of November (A/C 5808). Leaves HNL at 0040 LCL 🙂30 late due to multiple ops). Returns to the field at 0352 LCL due to "Left HYD SYS failure."

Good times...

P.S. This plane is slated to ferry to MSP today (the 15th).

Did this spring a leak and total loss of fluid? Or both Left dyd pumps died?

Would that have required an electric flap extension? If my memory is correct the left system is flaps/gear...Scary thought if it puked all the fluid.

Good question...All I know is that they were approx 1.5 hours out (I base this on the 3 hours and change flight time), and had to come back to the Rock. WorldFlight wasn't much help this time, and I haven't seen/heard a word about it since...

I'd really like to know how they are still operating ETOPS....of course this is not an engine problem but geez

Do you ever come to this site, look in the NW forum & just hope this topic has falls down to page two because there hasn't been any return to fields, diversions, etc?

Sadly, we usually can't go more than a few days without one occuring and back right to the top of page 1.

Funny thing is, is that it has nearly 12,000 views. It is by far the most viewed thread here.

there is a NWA 757 at my city and from what i was told it made an emergency landing at ABE yesterday due to low oil pressure. The mechanics, if you call them that, just started "to try to fix" it at around 630pm tonight.
