Fun contest! Guess where NWA's next "incident" will be!

The plane they flew up there as a "back up" was used to fly the passengers out of DLH....and right back to MSP without their luggage.

The original plane then flew back to MSP several hours later, and flight 44 for 02.Sept.06 is slated to arrive in LGW 29+ hours late. The return flight is running approx. 49+ hours late.

Kev,

Thanks again for all of the information on how NW is really operating! It is a shame that the vast majority of these incidents go unreported in the media - keep up the good work!

I can only hope that the FAA will finally be proactive and do something about NW's substandard maintenance operation before something bad happens - instead of acting after a catastrophe as they typically do.

Anyway, my next choice will be HOU - engine problems.

when would a good time be for them pax to demand a full refund a thorough investigation from the feds on the nwa treatment of them pax and the likes? i'd be mighty poed

If you want to win, you might want to change that choice to IAH. I don't believe that NW flies into Hobby airport (HOU), do they?
(Codeshares through ATL on Shuttle America don't count in this contest.)

"robbed",

SADLY, not before(the earliest) that congress is controlled by the Democrats, and MOST LIKELY, not before the "SMIRKING CHIMPANZEE" is out of office.
(But THAT is not until 1/20/200"9") (GOD HELP US) !!!!!

Thanks for the sad news Kev, I bet those passengers are ready to kill. What a mess. Should they get Dougies' address by "mistake."

Welcome to the NEW Scab Air!!!! We'll get you there....someday. 😛 😛

Ryks said planes have been diverted to the airport because of weather, but he could not remember one for a mechanical issue.

Can't remember because it needs to keep his yes-man job.

Well perhaps the Great Northwest should of been a bit nicer to some of the government people in the lovely land of 10,000 lakes.

I'm sure the immigration/customs boss told them to "drive slowly" if they needed to go to Duluth. (hey wait a minute, there should be some staffed in DULUTH....due to the port)-if that was the case.

There is absolutely no reason why those people in DLH had to sit on that smelly plane for 10 hrs. NW could of coordinated and brought either more staff or something to keep the intl pax in one area so they can walk and use a good comode. I've seen it where they bussed people to the terminal if the jetway wasn't designed to reach a DC 10.

Wasn't the first time NWA was treated to a good o'l fashion "eat this" method of treatment by some government agencies (if this was the casee) . I remember one incident where the plane was made to sit on the runway FOR HOURS because it landed at the wrong airport, not the one designated as the secondary (due to weather). Didn't let anyone off nor did they recater.

Sad the passengers were the ones who suffered. Just shows that it is very importaint to network and never burn bridges.

that is so true and I am with you on that all the way buddy.

I sure would have been...I found out today that the passengers were kept on the original plane for 10 hours before being allowed to get off.

10 HOURS!!!!! Jeezus, needless to say those passengers will never be on a Scab Air junkpile again!!!

Somebody should be fired for that one!!!!!

Yes, it is IAH. Home of the guy who retired 4 days before the strike, only to scab his own job for $10/hour less. He should be a candidate for scab of the week.

Please feel free to post that SCAB's name so all can see the new SCAB of the week.
Since nobody has taken it this round, I'm going with Laguardia or JFK...I'll say smoke...somewhere.

I remeber hearing the quote from an ESE at IAH "It is weird seeing Gary Smith wearing a Swissport shirt around here".

I guess he enjoyed the pizza party that was thrown for him out of sympathy. After dedicating 28 years to NWA as a mechanic and PMI, he was being forced to retire. 🙁

Only to come and get another dose. <_<

Yes, Mr. Smith, you and your scab buddy from ATL, DooDah,now a scab in DTW, deserve the award.
