Further proof democrats are spineless

How does this show a party as being spineless? They simply do not have enough votes to over ride a veto. I am guessing that will change come Jan of 2009 when the new Cong/White House takes office. In the mean time, more flag draped boxes will come home.

sounds like 'changing with the wind' to me!

the Democratic presidential candidates are setting out positions that could leave the United States engaged in Iraq for years.

John Edwards, the former North Carolina senator, would keep troops in the region to intervene in an Iraqi genocide and be prepared for military action if violence spills into other countries. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York would leave residual forces to fight terrorism and to stabilize the Kurdish region in the north. And Senator Barack Obama of Illinois would leave a military presence of as-yet unspecified size in Iraq to provide security for American personnel, fight terrorism and train Iraqis.

You and I both know this is nothing but political, the dems are more concerned about getting the white house and they are willing to sacrifice national security in order to achieve it!

I suspect when/if the dems take control they will continue status quo in order to secure a victory in order to take credit...JMHO!

Garfield,

Save your breath.

YOU + I + "THEY", know your correct, that EL CHIMPO is hanging onto power by a THREAD(via the Democrats not having enough votes to over ride a presidential veto)

Funny thing is that I'm not mad at the lunatic staunch conservatives like R-TX. "Corn Hole" Cornyn, but at the fence riders like R-Va. Warner etc.

Further more folks like R-Ne. Hagel/R-Me. Snow/Collins should get the medal of Honor, for calling a BAD situation, as they see it !!!!!!!!!

My first cousin is a Marine, he's also a member of the democratic party.

Must be a spineless, cowardly, cut-and-run Marine, right? (of course I jest).

How did you know that? I'd call him that myself but he's younger, quicker and a bit stronger than me. 😉

And the Republicans so concerned about keeping control that they will scare you into believing you have to give up your civil liberties to feel safe, and that protecting an "Institution" is more important than ensuring all Americans have the same rights.

Wake up and smell the roses dude...you're F**ked no matter who calls the plays.

In previous years I would have agreed, today I look at the political land scape and I feel the Republicans have taken screwing this nation to an entire level.

How does this show a party as being spineless?

Because their d!cks fell off with Clinton's & they've got to forfeit another piece of anatomy ( especially since they're too busy talking through their a**holes at the moment). 🙄

Talking out of ones hind quarter is something you should be quite familiar with as you have been doing it for quite some time. Given that your VP knew full well what would happen in Iraq yet continued to proceed at full speed. Yet you still support him. And you have the balls to still rant on about Clinton. That’s rich.

I guess since you have no legitimate response you resort to insults. I cannot say I expected more of you.

Gee Garfield, remember it's a two way street out there. You can disparage the Prez and VP and every living conservative by utilizing your so-called liberal fiat to condemn. And yet you get a little squeaky when another dem ( remember I am a fellow party member) takes a view separate from the pelosi/dean/obama mainstream and decides to push back a bit. Then again, that's the true nature of the democratic party at the moment -- intolerance towards dissent. I'm not gonna apologize for dissenting.

But just to show that I am truely a liberal-minded thinker, I'll step back from echoing the OP's assertion that dems are "spineless". Let's put it in in terms that a true blue, PC-minded, obfuscating democrat would use.

How about if we get "evolutionary" here? -- that should assuage dem sensibilities since dems shriek about Church and that religious off-shoot veneer called Creationists. Let's put it just like the PC dems would to retain their self-esteem. Dems are not spineless, rather they are jellyfish. For those offended dems who can't handle seafood, let's say dems are like peanut butter and jelly ( but without the bread for those who hate the big robber baron corporations who bake it and without the peanuts for those with allergies).

This is the world you guys are creating with your intolerance, legalistic manipulations, and watering down the meanings of words and language, all of which blows smoke around real earnest public policy debate. Learn to live in the world you're helping to create man. But please don't whine when someone calls you out, either directly or with a mild virtual tweak.

That's hillarious. I am an independent anyway so insult away. You are insulting an entire party, not individuals. I realize the difference may elude you but it is there none the less.

Your little rant only condemned the liberals and made no mention of any republican short comings. Why is that?

The dems in my opion are only marginally better than the republicans. They are no better at running government than the republicans are. Both parities representatives are only interested in their own power and helping them selves, not the electorate they were hired to help. The only redeeming value the Dems have for me is their Federal bench nominees. For the most part, they fall in line closer to my beliefs than the likes of Bork, Scalia, Rhenquist and the rest.

When you actually acknowledge the short comings of your party (the republicans) as well of the Dems then perhaps your arguments will hold more water. As it stands, while your rants may be worded "all fancy and stusff" they are hardy distinguishable from Local and his ilk.
