Well 70 percent of Utah did vote against homosexual marriage so yes the majority did speak.
Can you think of a situation where voting on people's rights might not be a good idea? Are you also under the delusion that the COTUS supports majority rule?

Oh the copy and paste google wizard 700UW has spoken!!  You are about as bright as mud if you think the majority people of Utah is for homosexual marriage.  It's one of the most conservative states in the nation, no matter how thick headed your skull can't comprehend it.

Trick question 700UW what came first the marriage ceremony or the constitution?
Trick question. Are we a theocracy or a constitutional republic?

Last time I checked this country is based on laws and not the bible.

And once again you ignore the facts.

And do you work on Sundays?

Do you cut your hair?

So did slavery, but its illegal and unconstitutional now isnt it?

The fact is Google is your Bible!!

Can you not debate the facts and things asked of you?

You keep ignoring things that were once legal and later found unconstitutional and illegal, yet you keep ignoring the FACTS shown to you.

The United States was formed upon a christian nation and beliefs.

You want facts???!  I give you one since that is your fav sentence.   The marriage ceremony was a religious institution between a MAN and WOMAN since the beginning of time.  It was before any government, constitution, federal or state ceremony.  For a person to say "I want to be married" is essentially saying I believe in God.  And if you believe in God then you learn he clearly defines homosexuality as a sin next to murder.  So yes I stick to the "facts" that marriage ceremony came before the constitution!!
All true. And entirely irrelevant.

We are a constitutional republic (I don't have time to wait for you to figure it out) and the 14th is quite clear about how laws must be written and applied. Until such time as a state can prove that they have a legitimate interest in banning marriage equality the laws will fall.

There are currently two forms of marriage.n the religious institution that has existed in various forms for quite some time and the state sanctioned marriage which we had in recent history.

In all likely hood both institutions shall endure. Religion will continue to marry people under what ever principles they choose unfettered by government and government will continue to issue marriage licenses based on the rule of law which will soon entail same sex marriage. Both will coexist.

It's because there is NO point talking to you after the fact that you think Utah supports homosexual marriage!!  I have seen your posts on threads before you twist and manipulate words, take things out of context whenever you can.  In your world 2+2 doesn't equal 4.  It's whatever 700UW thinks are the facts!!

Therefore "marriage" should remain the name for the ceremony for religious groups.  And "civil union" or some other type name should be given to those entities that want to join homosexuals.  But for some reason that just isn't good enough for them even if they do receive the same "rights" from the government.

Show me where I have said that the majority of Utah supported gay marriage.

No it was not. Most of the founders were desists not theists.

Ship sailed. The word marriage is intertwined into our way of life. There has not been one single bill proposed by the GOP to remove marriage from state sanctioned unions. Why do you think that is?

Except that for some time in Utah, marriage wasn't between ONE mand and ONE woman.  It's called "polygamy" and it was a part of the Mormon religion (most Utahans are Mormon) for many years.   Then they made it illegal.

I do believe in God, but thankfully, my God has better things to do that sit up on a throne keeping a list of all the bad things we do on Earth and rubs his hands together in glee as he sends yet another heathen to burn in the fires of hell.

Could you answer his questions?  Your God was quite explicit in his word that you should not work on the Sabbath, you should not cut your hair, and you should not touch an "unclean" woman for a week.  Have you done any of those?  Do you fear his retribution?  Enjoy a pork rib while pondering the answer.

You don't get it Black Magic. The gays do not care about marriage. This is nothing more than the gays trying to force a concept onto the public. They think if they can force the government to legitimize gay marriage the public will have no choice but to accept homosexuality.

What you are seeing is the gay agenda in action.

Libtards will tell you all about free speech. They will tell you how they support it and it is wrong to censor people. Then they give you a list of things you cannot say and call it "Politically Correct".

Guess you dont remember when it was illegal for a black and white couple to get married too, so were they trying to force their views on society too?
