The proof is in the pudding. The reason most of the states are not even bothering to fight the rulings against the banns is because there is no legal argument to prevent equal access to marriage. A few of course will fight because they can't just go to their constituents and tell them that their bias against gays can not be legally supported so they fight it in court and when they lose they can say that the evil liberal courts have subverted the will of of the people.

Give it time..as surely as the sun will rise it will become an issue.  Most religions have to adhere to following the "law of the land rule."

None as of yet..that is the next step though.  Are you that dense that you don't think laws come and go/change in the future as society sees fit?!  Like I said changes are to come very soon...just like homosexuals being married seemed silly a decade ago but here we are.  The Mormon church used to allow plural marriages before it became illegal, the church had to change its policy to follow and no longer condones polygamy.
