Remember what i said about gays historically wearing out their welcome........
You need to open your eyes.  They have just been invited to the party.  It is intolerant people like you who have worn out their welcome.

I think the entire idea of a ‘gay agenda’ is only a conservative talking point to stir up the masses.  None of my friends have ever heard of this agenda.  All they want are the same rights that everyone else enjoys.

I used to think that as well. Now I'm less sure as I see to many incidents of bullying by the Gay community. If a caterer doesn't want to have gay weddings due to their beliefs they shouldn't lose their business over it.

Houston IS an issue, the reason it's "Forgotten about" is that those pushing the Homo Promo Agenda figured they went a bridge to far and backed off.

Is it OK if a caterer refuses service to all women?  How about if they deny service to anyone over a certain age?  How about blacks?  Native Americans?  What if enough companies in a certain area all decide that they are not going to serve any of the groups above?

Honestly I'd say that the imaginary area houses the dumbest people on the planet. There is but one color in business and it's the color of money (currently Green). Secondly, the gay demographic is one that is highly desirable due to the relatively high levels of disposable income. If you exclude women you exclude those who have spouses. (Remember women have access to 80% of the money and control 100% of the poontang). By doing as you suggest a business would have a very small customer base and would run a very high risk of failure.

As former Congressman Michael "ozzie" Myers said to an undercover FBI officer posing as an Arab oilman in the ABSCAM sting, "Money talks and BS walks".

As to the caterer in question, I think they made an error in judgement as if the wedding reception had gone well the referrals would have allowed them to grow and expand. They would in essence become better Christians by showing their tolerance and their love of God. But I don't think they should be fined to the point that they go out of business.

What rights are being denied to religions?  Who says you have to accept gays?  The only thing anyone has to accept is that they are entitled to the same rights as anyone else.  I do not accept the beliefs of the KKK but I do accept the fact that they have the right to do as they choose so long as they do not violate anyone elses rights.

As far as the case in Houston is concerned, it’s not even in the news anymore.  Already forgotten.

If there is only one color and it is green then why did most companies the south prior to 1964 deny service to blacks?  Hatred is a very strong emotion.

You are missing the point I am trying to make.  I am just asking if it is OK to deny service to any of these groups.  Whether or not it is smart to do is not what I am asking.  I am just asking if it is OK legally.  If it is not then it is not Ok to deny service to gays.

The caterer chose their own fate.  They chose to make a stand that was in violation of the law.  Tough cookies (no pun intended).

My basic take on this is simple and out of the mainstream.

My Business, My Investment, My Property. Don't like my policies? GOOD, shop someplace else. You act  like discrimination is a dirty word. If I buy a Toyota instead of a Ford I've discriminated against Ford. Happens hourly throughout the US with every product or service sold.

If I'm in business I want ONE thing, Your money and plenty of it. Further, I want to see you back again early and often. No I don't care who you screw, who you live with, your color, your education, gender all mean nothing to me. Just so long as your credit card gets approved. If I throw you out of MY STORE you've accomplished something that few in their life would ever experience. My job is to meet your requirements at a price you feel is fair and a price that I feel offers me a fair return.

Everything else is BULL POOP

Choosing one over the other is not the same as being denied the choice.

That’s fine.  You value money.  The caterer obviously did not.  Neither did the thousands of companies in pre-civil rights America who denied service to blacks.

I do not think your line of reasoning is out of the main stream.  Most businesses agree with you if I understanding you correctly.  I fully agree that you should be able to deny service to an individual.  When that denial of service extends to a group based on a blanket policy then there is an issue.

Two ordained ministers have filed a federal lawsuit and are seeking a restraining order to prevent local officials from forcing them to marry same-sex couples, saying they have been threatened with fines and possible jail time over their refusal.
Donald and Evelyn Knapp, owners of Hitching Post Wedding Chapel in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, are being represented by the Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative legal firm, claiming that city officials told them that they are required to conduct gay marriages under a nondiscrimination ordinance.

“I think the Bible is pretty clear that homosexuality is not his way, and therefore I cannot unite people in a way that I believe would conflict with what the Bible teaches,” Donald Knapp told KXLY-TV back in May.
