What's impressive to me... O'Mara and West have gone unpaid during the past two years. O'Mara has paid his staff only. West quit his job as a federal prosecutor to take on this case.

And these guys managed to take on the somewhat unlimited resources of the State of Florida, with the not so silent backing of Eric Holder, Hollywood, and the mass media...

Pundit reactions to George Zimmerman's acquittal in the killing of Trayvon Martin was swift. MSNBC's Al Sharpton, an ally of the Martin family, called the verdict an “atrocity.” "It is probably one of the worst situations that I have seen," he said.

Yep.

This was a non-case from Day One. The police didn't see cause to file. The local DA didn't see cause to file. And now the jury has said there wasn't cause.

Next up, it's time for Rick Scott to hold an investigation of the Florida DA's office. Withholding material information from the defense is inexcuseable, and firing the person who raised up his hand to call it out is criminal. So is firing the Sanford Chief of Police for refusing to file charges.

I see civil suits coming out of this (two wrongful terminations?), if not a couple criminal investigations.

I'd love to see Sharpton and Obama held accountable for their roles in this, but hey, they've got bigger things to worry about now.

Wonder if Holder, Hollywood and the MM will help pony up for the monetary award the Ex- Cheif of police should receive, after his lawsuit ?

This case will make him many millions once he inks the book deal. That is impressive forethought.

And yes, I do think the system works.

And for the police chief firing, Florida is a right to work state. That does not mean he can't bring suit of course. Anyone can sue anyone as most of you know.

Attorneys for George Zimmerman on Thursday filed paperwork, asking a judge to unseal details of a $1 million-plus settlement that a homeowners association paid the parents of Trayvon Martin, the unarmed black 17-year-old killed last year by a Sanford Neighborhood Watch volunteer.

Zimmerman's attorneys say it's important because it shows a "potential bias" by Trayvon's parents, who are expected to testify at Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial.

I'm curious if Zimmerman will sue the State of Florida for malicious prosecution? They obviously caved to political pressure from team Sharpton/Jackson.
