Great link provided by KCFlyer -- a must read for all who want to know who's really to blame for the collapse of yields, which is the leading cause for the ongoing record losses posted by the full-service majors (it's not 9/11/01 and it's not security hassles and taxes). Below-cost yields are the bed the full-service majors made for themselves when they rejected Value Pricing 10 years ago and by evolving their fare structures to ever-increasing heights of absurdity ever since.
One of Gordon's tenets for success is remember that customers want predictability. Nothing could be more unpredictable than the thing that matters most to most customers, including business travelers -- sane, equitable pricing (see link provided by KCFlyer). Gordon has probably established an all-time record for foot-in-mouth statements by airline CEOs, so what's one more?
