To dismiss "19 Arab cave dwellers" as somehow being incapable of being able to pull off what they did is not only racist but shows an ignorance of history. Let me explain. Contrary to what you believe about US air defenses America has never had the “most sophisticated air defenses in the worldâ€￾. During the cold war that title went to the Soviet Union which had thousands of SAM batteries and fighters dedicated to air defense. The US on the other hand dismantled their last NIKE SAM sites in the late 1970’s. The countries of Western Europe during the cold war had more heavily defended air space than we did.

Did you also know that there have been third world countries that had more sophisticated air defense systems than the United States. Prior to 1991 Iraq had the most sophisticated system in the world. Not only did they have Soviet built SAM’s but French as well. Currently North Korea, in spite of the fact that a good portion of its population goes hungry every night, has a more comprehensive air defense system than we do.

What the CT's fail to realize that on 9/11/2001 there were only a handful of bases that had fighters dedicated to air defense. They also fail to realize that those fighters were still geared to a cold war style threat. In other words bombers coming out of the North Atlantic or over the North Pole.

It's not a case of believing in "government fairy tales". I'm a firm believer in the simplest explanation being the most likely. What's more likely? That a handful of highly motivated fanatics took advantage of our open borders, open society and lax airport security to attack us. Or the government conspired against us and was able to get hundreds if not thousands of people to go along without saying anything before or after the attacks.
