I would disagree, and I think there needs to be less government but not none.

If I could change one thing in government right now that would save tons of money, it would be the federal contracting process.

I don't have time to explain it here, suffice it say it is probably one of the biggest reasons that it costs the government more to do anything. The reason for this is that people like you demand accountability and fairness. That comes with a price. Everything has to be open and documented. Contracts have to be available for minorities, small businesses, etc. Very often, contracts go to people who cannot do the best job. That ends up costing more money in the end.

I do support government.

I value your perspective on this subject; no matter whether we agree or not.

My gut tells me that we value government in many congruent ways...

You probably understand where I am coming from where I say Government.

From municipalities to state run organizations, we are affected by these entities on a daily basis.

Government is not just "Big Brother" (The Federal Government).

Spoken like a potential Libertarian.

Libertarians in general believe in a very limited Federal Government.

Our whole point is that we believe that problems can be solved better, faster, cheaper and be customized for the individual at the State or local level. This allows us as a nation to maximize our resources in the delivery of services while maintaining maximum individual freedom and liberty.

The concept is to simple for the Republicrats to grasp as it puts the taxpayer first and the power brokering and cashing in second. So the Libertarian point of view makes for good debating but has lousy prospects for being implemented.

In addition to the above mentioned naked greed of the politicians the second problem is that the average citizen is unwilling to take responsibility for their actions. Expecting the Federal Government to "Do Something"

Everytime that happens we lose a little piece of our freedom and liberty.

You have made many points on the Libertarian vieiwpiont, which I believe is the true thinking of Constitutional principles. BUT.......(I know, everything before "but" is BS).....Not this case.

Besides forums like this......town hall meetings where ordinary people are labeled as Nazis.... plants by Repubs...Charges from top DEM officials., and perpetuated through Left wing media....Tech Posters starting threads about "Good Government", then trying to defend it to the hilt! This is all Left Wing tactics that they have used for YEARS! They ARE the Brown shirts! THESE ARE THEIR TACTICS!

Unfortunately, we have Dumborat and Republicat Parties entrenched in our system of Government, and what has been transpiring over the last few weeks is NOT Democracy, but a FREE REPUBLIC in action.
