Personally I hope that this proposed debacle never sees the light of day, however: A few suggestions for the new Elephant:
1/ Don't merge and install a res system from circa 1960.
2/ Don't rip airplanes apart before actually considering the fact that emergency lights are considered necessary by the FAA.
3/ Make peace with labor by paying them. It's simple. Pay them. People are less likely to be bitter if they are paid decently. They go out, live their lives and come to work with good teeth, good health and happy families.
EXHIBIT A: CONTINENTAL AIRLINES: (THE ONE THAT DUMPED YOU BECAUSE YOU'RE INCOMPETENT)
4/ Consider the wisdom of having aircraft parts somewhere in the vicinity of where said aircraft is kept: PHX having A330 parts is considered idiotic by most reasonable people.
5/ Hire quality vendors and install "if then's " into contracts. It really isn't rocket science to manage a video system or cater an aircraft. .
6/ Realize that ticking off the people who pay the most for tickets is considered abysmally dumb.
These are just a few. I'm sure that others will be able to give the new Elephant more advice.
