What's new

Herman Cain

Nope, no tripping. The OP asked, and I answered.

The pearl clutching by some on here never fails to amuse me.

Agreed. The liberal pearl clutching leading up to the 2012 elections will be even more amusing.

I'd prefer to see campaign finance reform on a massive scale. There is no reason that it should cost excess of $2 billion to buy the white house. That money means that a lot of favors are.owed and the will of the people is subverted.

WHY? Does freedom and liberty scare you? Or, as i suspect you want the deck rigged for the Progressives?

There is nothing wrong with how we elect people. It's who we elect and the apathy of the citizenry.

Like I previously said, you did check into Obama and his bank roll didn't you or is this just a lefty thang, Yo'?

This is merely another example of it's 'OK if my guy does it but not OK if your guy does it'. Politicians are crooked. According toPolitco, the 2008 election cost was $4.2 billion. The presidential election came in at $2.4 billion. The idea that this amount of money can be raised with out strings attached is ludicrous.

When's the last time you or Kev posted anything about the Soros/Obama Love-fest......................hell, when was the first time !

It was right about tbe same time you posted.something about Koch brothers.

Actually. I take that back. I do not believe that I ever posted about anyone them.

Freedom? Thats a good one. Corporations cannot vote. In my opinion the SCOTUS screwed up. I think there is a huge issue with the way elections are financed. This has nothing to do with freedom or equal representation any more. It has to do with money, finance and who can raise the most money to buy the office. The will of the people has been subverted.

Corporations can't vote?
Unions had an exclusive on campaign finance until Obama lost the SCOTUS decision and corporations were given a level playing field .
Corporations can now 'vote' with their cash just like the favored unions have been for decades.

...Says the man that either lives in (or near) Bachmann's district...

I am well aware of the crush of money that comes into any campaign. I am against it, left or right. Again, THIS thread is about Cain, and his ties to the Koch brothers. There a gazillion Obama specific threads on this site.

Is there ANOTHER thread somewhere that you'd like me to check out? I don't really wade in too deep anymore, mostly because I can't stand the right wing circle jerk the Water Cooler has become. If you, Dapoes/7days, and Dell want to back slap each other, have at it.

Meanwhile, here's a fun activity for you. I'm sure with they'd welcome you with open arms.

A level playing field?! Really? You apparently have grossly overestimated the amount of $$$ at any given union's disposal.

I tried to do a search and I cannot seem to find any comments by you, voicing your outrage on the amount of money Wall Street, Soros Unions, etc., gave to Obama. Please show us where they are.

Like most liberal hypocrites they are silent when their own party is violating some principle but when a conservative/republican does it, suddenly you take notice.

I think we all understand how these times are awkwardly uncomfortable for liberals like yourself. Hope and Change turned into an embarrassing failure. Nothing that the democrat party has done has worked and everything they do turns sour. We understand your embarrassment. Its not like you were never warned how much of disaster the left was. Now its apparent to everyone. Even those on the left.

As far as I am concerned that is the problem. Unions cannot vote. Neither can oil companies, pharmaceuticals, auto manufactures or any other company for that matter. I am of he opinion that if you cannot vote, you should not be allowed to donate. People vote, not companies.

Well since I started this topic, I'd like to add this.....................

Virtually everyone here on the WC have made valid points. I doubt anyone disagrees that it takes a TON of dough to run a loooooong campaign, and we all would not be surprised to learn if (say) Newt or Santorum, of Bachman were getting "loot" from "money boys" the likes of the "club for growth, the Heritage Group/Fund etc or some other Right Wing special Interest Group. Nor does anyone NOT KNOW that B O gets money from Mr. Soros.

With that said, My point was that Uncle Herman(Cain) burst onto the scene as a (supposed) "outsider" with his ..down home twang ..informing us ALL that he's been a Hard Worker and Successful business man(to which I sincerely say ..(CONGRATS), ...ONLY to find out he's got his "snout" in the Koch Bros. trough ! ! Democrat or Republican, I'm not sure if any of you will "buy into" this/my theory, but here goes..........

Thinking back to 92', I see Uncle Herman as Ross Perot, meaning he's a PLANT to siphon votes away from someone, and it darn sure isn't MB, or NG, or RS or Ron P ! Keeping in mind where his Money is coming from, I'm wagering that Uncle Herman is in this thing to drag just enough votes away from MITT, therefore elevating Praying Perry into the nomination !

I'm sure there are some here that Won't buy into my theory. I just hope it's not because you actually THINK Uncle Herman can/will WIN this thing outright. Try to remember the "challenge" that I threw
down that will be SC/MS/AL/TX/LA/KY and GA. Good ol' boy Herman ain't foolin' no one !!!
