What's new

How is the Lumexis trial going?

Canceled...now they're talking about testing a couple of different IFE's in the Jan/Feb time frame.

Jim

Have they every launched anything as planned? How pathetic.

Glad I'll be enjoying internet and LiveTV on CO.

What happened?

Don't recall that any reason was given, just an announcement in the employee newsletter that test's of two different systems would be next year (Jan or Feb I think)

Jim

There was an announcement about the delay, and it stated that with fuel at $140/bbl at the time, many projects were being delayed. They then announced they delayed the test until the Jan Feb 09 timeframe.

Alsways some lame excuse. Funny how AA and CO continued to moved forward with their enhancements. The new US has never move forward as they initially announce. While US becomes less and less competitive and relies on monopolies it has with its hubs, other airlines are entiricing business travelers who will continue to travel even in a bad economy with amenities and high service levels.

What does that have to do with anything? Your initial post asked what was happening with the IFE, and I told you that they delayed it due to fuel hitting $147/ bbl. What does that have to do with CO and AA continuing their programs? Your point? Oh, yet another refreshing US bashing thread, because someone never called you back ...

And, Piney, you say they are not "straight" with it's customers, so I'll say it again: The company told us they were delaying the IFE trial run until Jan/ Feb time period due to the spike in oil. Pretty simple and straight, if you ask me.

Can't get much more "straight" than that.

Were CO and AA getting fuel at a discount when US was paying $147 a barrel?

-oil at $147/ barrel
-that darn jetstream
-those lazy flight attendants
-the pilot infighting
-difficult agents refusing to learn Shares
-employees not willing to change
-the Chinese New Year
-daylight savings time
-the city of PHL
-those irritating FAA rules
-those darn, pain in the butt passengers( or "revenue" as they like to call them)

...TEMPE ALWAYS HAS SOMEONE ELSE TO BLAME FOR THEIR OWN INCOMPETENCE AND INABILITY TO GET ANYTHING DONE.

Unitl there is accountability in the SANDCASTLE, nothing is gonna change..........

Actually, I think, US uses announcements to see if the concept presented has any merit with those willing to respond whereas real corporations make announcements because they actually have a plan and real leadership to pull a plan off, with minimal glitches.

In one, the management group has successfully disengaged themselves from reality and must rely on "polling", the other, the management groups actually know what is going on.

BTW, you toss futures pricing like you know what you are talking about. For instance, at the peak of $147/bbl, what was US actually paying and how did that compare with year over year? Fact of the matter is, the price of oil futures as an "excuse" holds no water, other than simply being an excuse for the masses.
