After all has been done each of us has to answer for our actions. Not to the company or our co-workers, but to ourselves.

Please consider the damage done in the name of self-advancement during the events of the past several months is something besides another star on a management collar.

How many thousands of jobs have been traded for the souls of those who believe the only measure of success comes from the sacrifice of others?

Or to put it more simply, if there is a Hell, is US Airways worth it?

Now you're talking my language Doggy...I brought this sort of stuff up on here in the past only to be labeled crazy. Crazy you must be to hang onto the ladle from the pits of hell that pours sorrows upon the U employees . Is U worth it you ask, are you nuts? ? HELL NO and why I am gone!

Your soul is priceless.

Your labor is worth what a customer is willing to pay you.

Because of competition they can now fly without being gouged by the airlines and their employees.

If you can make more doing a different job please leave now and stop whining.

It's simple economics, not a battle between good and evil as you imply.

I work for another airline and US AIR is located right next to us. According to the US Air people a lot have done what you suggested and left. Also, a lot of people have left the airline I work for because of the concessions and all the other issues. You talk of employees gouging the customers. I'd say it is the other way around. Airline employees are subsidising your low fares with their wages, benefits, workrules, pensions, and retiree medical. It has gotten to the point that people in non-union jobs make more than most airline personnel and the job is no longer worth it to many people so they just leave. In your last sentence you say it is simple economics and your right. At the airport I work at, a ground handling contract company, who pays just above minimum wage with no benefits whatsoever, came into our breakroom and asked if anyone wants to work for them on our days off. They also asked us to tell others they have these jobs available. Obviously, like US Air who is advertising these same type of jobs for $7.17 an hour in my city, they can't get anyone to work for these insulting wages. So I would say the bottom has been reached unless you feel airline employees should pay their employers to work for them.

SOUL? very, very good mr GEORGE W. BUSH , you keep talking to GOD and at the same time keep sending those teen agers to IRAQ......

GOD,SOUL ETC, its all man made (ONE GUY IS MISFORTUNE IS ANOTHER GUY IS BLESSING) USAIRWAYS liquidation and the workers hardships is balanced by the growth of SOUTHWEST and the riches and joy of its employees.
see there is not such a thing of good or evil, its just a metter of PERCEPTION.

IS THE GLASS 1/2 FULL OR 1/2 EMPTY. ( MURPHY 101)

KEEP VOTING REPUBLICAN, and dont EVER hold your elected officials accountable, it is not the american way to demand goverment protection for wage, pension, health and a work safe life.

Just another DELETED BY MODERATOR liberal who does not get. It is simply mindboggling!

the people left should just walk I did and dont regret it for one minute
these people that are left are lost and need someone like management to lead them like starving sheep grazing on a snow covered pasture on top of a hillside, down to the valley where the can scratch up a few pieces of food that the rick man left behind.

... Allow me to intoduce you to what is REALLY going on,,

Southwest Airlines management had the common sense and where with all to FUEL HEDGE, which is allowing them to buy fuel at around $26.00/gal...

This allows Southwest to "SET" the fares and allows SW to make a profit while other airlines are drowning in red ink..

This situation will not last forever..But what it does is give the "Legacy" carriers a window of opportunity "in Usairways & UAL's case thru bankrupcy" to cry poor and extract unheard of concessions from their labor forces..

FUEL HEDGING is the main reason you are flying on those cheap tickets today.

Southwest is attempting to take out Usairways, But due to employee concessions, I believe they will not succeed, [That is IF Usairways management knows what to do with all their windfall concessions..]

If you do not want to hear whining by employees, I suggest you LEAVE this website, Because you obviously have NO ideal what sacrifices people have made to keep WHINING passengers such as yourself in a CHEAP seat...

what about the other 4989 city pairs that SWA doesn't serve? would agree too a point within cities served By SWA they hold a 'fuel cost advantage' , now post 2nd bk UAIR has a 'labor cost advantage' (swa pays more than uair for labor).

If it wasn't prohibited by the USAirways Ethics policy I would say that I've worked here since the Peidmont merger. (This does not imply that I work for USAirways.)

I know what sarifices have been made. I also know how much union featherbedding has gone on here for the last 15 years.
