These incompetants are in place to replace the leader when he either dies or is indicted

If it wasn't true it would make a good comedy line. Shame of it is most of the membership are good loyal decent people hard working who only want to support their families. The good ole boy club you mention where a few perceived tough azzes secure a lifelong job for "themselves" regardless what happens to the ranks does suck big time. Back in 1978 I worked at a machine shop with the IAM. I remember the "big" guy come in from Pittsburgh 50 miles away to tell us to vote for the contract because it was the best we could expect and that was after weeks on strike only gaining pennies for weeks on strike, then my next experience with the IAM was at U and we all know the story from that point. I don't know what will become of U or the IAM but I do know I am very thankful they both are now a permanent part of my past. I sincerely wish all employees the best of luck, anyone still at U needs all the luck they can muster to get them through these terrible times. Thanks for the well wishes Bob.

Best Regards.....Curt

You didn't sit beside the few old timers like I did during the 92 strike and watch them just about cry, and that was only two days into the strike! It's fear and you're in total denial thinking otherwise. Fear is how that company is run and so far it has been working for henchman Glass. Frustration is reserved for when there is hope, it's not frustration. As far as labor saving the company and only a few posters being negative: That is why I am now outside looking in.

Good Luck, and if the majority has your attitude, then God help the employees.

Frustration! Thanks for the laugh of the day…..Speaking of which, have a nice day. I know I will because U is no longer part of me and I shouldn’t even be here wasting my time, 15 years was too much!

Friend I was there in '92 with twelve years into this business. I guess it depended on where you were as to whether you saw fear or not. From where I was I didn't.

Far be it for me to say how other people feel. But for me there was never fear. It was pure frustration of chasing a job all over the country, frustration of commuting, frustration by not seeing my family and so on. Frustration of seeing so many CEO's walk away with millions while we were left here trying to keep this thing going.
Now that I think about it, maybe the reason I never felt fear myself is that I knew I had something I could fall back on. After I couldn't take anymore that's exactly what I did after almost 25 years. I severed all ties with US. Used my retirement to payoff debts and invest in my own business. Time will tell if it was the right move but over the past 18 months I believe it was. I'm very fortunate.
I to am on the outside looking in and am probably wasting my time here as well. I keep up with it simply because I was there so many years and have lots of friends still hanging tough.
So at the end of the day, I hope US makes it. If they don't, well, life goes on.

Well damn, that makes sense or what? We just had a some agents to come from large city into our small station...and all they can do is load bags. Thats all they have done for 20 + years. In a small station agents must know how to work forms, work air freight, do pushbacks, deice, operate jetway, cater aircraft, clean aircraft, among other things ( I probably left out some). So large stations are worth more? Or is it that the palace thinks there will be enough votes in the large cities (if they pay them more) to carry the vote and the he!! with everybody else? (The "golden 10....or whatever the heck the number is, prob will sell out the other stations. Hope I'm wrong!)

My vote will be NO.

Not to mention, the out-stations have much higher seniority than the hubs, so the result is the SENIOR agents are getting outsourced.

Ditto on the vote.

I'll compromise, it was both, but mostly fear from my view. I can still remember this individual sitting beside me at the Holiday Inn during the strike saying, "we have to go back, we have to go back". He has since retired and his attitude was not the minority.

Time I believe has already told you that you made the right move and it's a great big Y_E_S!!!

Very Best Regards to You and all U Employees___Curt

Thanks for the info!

By the way, I see the current poll is almost tied. IMHO, there's nothing worse than a 51%-49% vote....
