A very interesting motor to say the least, putting a planetary gear train up front to run the N1 - I'll bet that damned thing is expensive if shelled out !

I'll also bet, in addition to making a larger N1, Pratt is going to try for more Rs (speed) in the core - not sure if that's a good idea but what I know of the new blade and wheel materials ain't much.

... only A7-B/TF-30 Pratts - more familiar with the old TF-41/A7-E or J-79/F-4, all of which are antiques (as am I). My "version" of Navy Jet School was with F-86 Sabres and J-47s.

I hear they are recruiting all the kids out of the schools.

More competition for the airlines! So when a kid os offered more money, better benifits working normal hours with weekends off or working nights weekends and holidays at the airlines where do you think they will go?
