A number of news org's are reporting DL VERY VERY close to BK/11 AND even equally close to BK/7.

If this happens, what would AA want/need internationally from JFK....???

Besides the LGA shuttle, what else from LGA ....????????

AA would not need anything from DL out of JFK. But they would not mind having the shuttle and LGA slots and gates.

Besides the LGA slots and DCA slots, perhaps the new DL BOS terminal would be an upgrade for AA.

DL still has eight 777s with Trent 892s - those would come in handy for increased int'l routes when UAL finally chokes to death. B)

Anyway, DL is likely to file Ch 11 with some surprise DIP financing, maybe combined with a sale of ComAir and ASA, which means that UAL and USAir will fail long before DL fails.

FWAAA,

Surely, you're not suggesting an interesting UCT/ICT based on your last session with your secret decoder ring or a jumpseat rider?

And yes, I know your name's not Surely;-)

😀 😀 Too funny!

Looking at it now, that post of mine looks like it was written by a certain Airbus pilot who flies for a distressed airline. Oops! 😀 😀

Pure speculation... I'm sure DL can limp along for many years in Ch.11 before getting to the point of liquidation.

We don't want anything to do with DL's BOS terminal.... Rent is 4x what they were paying in their old facility.

Slots would be nice, and a few of their 737-800's might be nicer than the 777's, but you can't be too picky at a garage, er, hangar sale....

I guess you haven't heard . . . with that denizon of the east, US Airways buying America West, they're going to be turning a huge profit by June and will bury the rest of the legacy airlines.

Hey, guys. This thread sounds like the family out in the lobby of the nursing home arguing over Grandpa's estate before he's even been put on life support! You could at least wait until DAL goes into CH11 before you start casting lots for its cloak. (I added the little biblical reference for calibrator. )

Come on Bear. A Little wishful thinking maybe?

Mr. Bush his judges, and his CEO friends want to keep the airlines "barefoot and pregnant" to keep fares at firesale prices and break the labor unions. UAL and DAL and U will just keep limping along and losing money.

"UAL and DAL and U will just keep limping along and losing money."

Funny how AA was excluded from that remark. They are limping along as well. Well, actually more like hobbling along. 😛 😛 😛

From the moves DL has made over the past 18 mos, my predict would be, in 2 yrs from today, DL has been in Ch 11 and is offering itself for merger. Every hub except ATL is a contract wipeout away from disappearing overnight. At that point all DL is is:
A one union legacy
One excellent hub
some Int'l
World class engine shop in ATL
no heavy A/C MX
