IF we had 747s

Why fly 747 when you could fly a 733 transcontinental.

regardless of the frame, usair (as distinct from the aqua green and orange pre-natal 'swoosh') had one hell of an in-flight product. that is the reason for today's loyalty. i know that word doesn't make sense to you. it has three syllables. aKs DoUgIe...he will explain it to you.
 
There would be no closet space, three lavs and staffed with 6 flight attendants (CSD and D to work Envoy. All 4 others to work coach). We could oversell it to 10/910. In order to conserve floor space for additional seating, our configuration will not include a stairs to reach the upper deck. We have replaced that with a chain ladder. All gate/inflight procedures written by American West employees who have never been in a widebody and have only left the USA for a spring break in Cancun. There would be 660 seat dupes at boarding. Don't forget the overhead projection inflight entertainment system. All 6 Envoy seats will be "Almost Lie-Flat" and the flight would feature Uniquely American Service. We will also cater it with two whole trays of ice. All enhancements will be cost neutral. Oh this is too easy. I'm just going to stop now.

Now I would accept all of these if they would add it on a late afternoon PHL-PIT-PHL turn to accomodate commuters.

There are many PHX based FAs at US Airways who remember it fondly. So yes, they have been on a widebody. Im an east FA and I found offense to your comments. Get the info straight before you open your mouth on here. Cant wait to hear your loud mouth in PHL.

Heavens to Betsy Honolulu and Nagoya! They were so good at it too they just kept expanding those routes. Anyways - I wasn't refering to the American West gals - I was referring to their current management who were probably on the playground at recess when those gals were working their four used 747s. Oh yeah didn't they turn those 747s into chitty chitty bang bang in no time. They were gone in two years. Look what they have done to US! I helped build this airline I can be as loud as I want.

Your comment smells like seniority envy. You know Gloria gets full retirement from Social Security in 8 more years. Maybe then I will consider retiring. You know at 65 --- like the rest of America. Just because you are unhappy doesn't mean us senior gals are put out to pasture when we have the change of life. Hey-- if I am having too much fun and keeping passengers happy on a transatlantic tue/wed/thu with summer and Christmas vacation, I will fly until I fail recurrent. Don't forget - I was once on reserve too. When I was hired on by Allegheny it took a few years to get off reserve.

America West Airlines purchased (leased) 4 Boeing 747-206B aircraft from formerly operated by KLM in 1989 used to fly nonstop from PHX hub to HNL, JFK and LAS and also makes one-stop to NGO (Nagoya, Japan) via HNL. Of course fly nonstop from LAS to HNL and PHX. Also special charter flights to Stuttgart, Germany and Saudi Arabia for US troops on 1991 Persian Gulf War. Stopped flying 747 in 1994?

Yep! They (the current Sand Caslte management) WERE still in the playground! You are right. Everyone in Tempe is right out of school and are using US as a stepping stone on their way to a good company. Once they've learned from their mistakes here, they'll leave and we'll get some other college intern and create the wheel all over again. :down: I am strictly talking about management. All of the flight crews from the west have treated me wonderfully!

But can you imagine using the east's new "CLP" program, first you would have to only carry 200 pax and they would be in the back of the plane after doing a GTB !!!!!
