Over the past six months I've had half a dozen decent job offers but I turned every one of them down. Why? I guess because the status quo wasn't quite shiity enough or because I didn't want to say goodbye to all of the great friends and really great people who work for United Airlines. Maybe it was because I didn't want to leave the home where we've lived for the past 12 years, my neighbors and family. There are probably a lot of reasons why we have all stayed and put up with the shiit that they have dished out for us.
But yesterday I got another offer and it just suddenly hit me that there are folks out there who really want, need and appreciate my special skills. They aren't going to constantly try to convince me that I'm overpaid and of questionable value. They certainly aren't going to label me simply as a cost and be done with it.
So I made the decision - I'm through with UAL
Sorry for not sticking around for the big showdown that's coming. I do kind of regret not being able to have the satisfaction of finally calling their bluff and seeing their faces when it all comes down.
I wish all of you the best of luck and I hope you make it through. United has the best employees in the industry – too bad they don’t know it.
