InFlight Service Question

"Not to (sic) long ago..... " Huh????

The service parameters described above have been in place for years now. Tempe, in particular Hector, has been making a dedicated effort to standardize service though out the system. Unfortunately, it's not always easy to teach old dogs new tricks.
If they can make a couple bucks at it, the old dogs will learn those new tricks in no time.

F/a's must be pimpin' those cards hard because it's been ages since I've seen reps hunting down people in the terminals. I understand the desperation by some to do it but my God I hate those announcements. I walk through the cabin and collect trash as soon as I hear one so the passengers know it isn't ME talking.

Well on My Flight AUA-CLT

Beverage Service just after Take-Off along with Ala-Cart. That was the ONLY Beverage service on the Flight. Then again, with One LAV MEL'd on the B757, this could have effected the service level. As I said previously, the other Aft Lav filled in flight and had to be closed. The F/A Hawking the Credit Cards, had a nice home made computer printed siign he had on the Trash Cart. He walked up and down the Asile for roughly 30 minutes pushing the Card. I did hear one Pax ask about the Annual Fee on the Card and he brushed off the question. He also wrote down the seat numbers he gave the Applications to, and re-visited the Pax to see if they were done flilling it out or needed help. Seems that all this crew cared about was the CC Apps not anything else and they were far from a Jr Crew.

I doubt the LAV situation had anything to do with the lack of service.

With only one lav still working on a full 757 in coach (first class restricted due to int'l) the service would need adjusted or the plane would have landed somewhere before CLT if the last one filled up

Those flights always do coffee/water but a lot of people fall asleep after eating and miss it. A lady swore duty free wasn't done the other day yet the person sitting beside her had bought it right from the cart.

I have flown to brussles with an Mel lav and done the full service on the 757. It's called lazy. Also, I have started to confront crews with that cash heffer announcement that pisses everyone off at nausium. Wish they would neuter that "cow" once and for all. It's turned rabid.

The post says one MEL and a SECOND closed off for being full so they were without 2 lavs on a full 757. The company should not send these out with a broken lav on international flights unless they want a line in envoy/first.

The company can never get rid of the cards because if you look at the quarterly earnings, hundreds of millions of dollars come from selling those frequent flyer miles plus Barclay's loaned US money. Might not even be here today without them Love them or hate them, they do produce a lot of revenue to the bottom line (and profit sharing)

The announcement for the card is to be made ONCE during any flight. PERIOD! ! ! The announcement is to be kept under a minute I believe. As for the service, this type of lazy behavior happens all the time. Cans to florida, one beverage to the west coast, no serve flights between PHL and BOS. It's endless really. I use to say I "go with the flow" but I do what is asked when to be quite honest service levels are bare bones. I hear so many times, "we're not paid enough". Just serve what your to serve and smile or go home. Apparently that happens a lot lately.

Hardly anybody takes the coffee and water and if you already gave them liquid it is going to pass eventually, even if you don't give them any more. Arrival, isn't going to pass through them before landing. So, IMHO, I don't think the service would have been impacted.

Sorry. We will just have to agree to disagree on this one.
