Introducing........The McBush

If you're voting for Osama I mean Obama because you don't like Bush - then you will be doing so for all the wrong reasons. How can any normal American like the views of this phoney - good god man he is a commie! 😛h34r:

I am voting for the Democratic candidate because of social issues. And the fact that there are probably 3 Supreme Court nominations coming in the next 4/8 years. Think that isn't a big issue? The Supreme's decided the 2000 election. Labor, Medicaid/Medicare, health care issues for all, choice, the desecration of your Constitutional rights, the loss of the "middle class", and on and on.

Rev. Nancy McGuire (gee and I thought all Obama supporters were atheists)

ps...My favorite saying seems to apply to many of the arguments: "Even God can't argue with ignorance". No one should question either candidates love of this country. We all have different reasons for voting one way or another. As someone who now works in social services and have watched my beloved former career disappear under the present administration, I certainly don't want 1 more year much less 4 more of any Republican platform. Aren't we lucky that we all have the choice (by our vote) to express our vision for this nation. It doesn't make any of us bad, or unpatriotic, and one's religious preference should absolutely have no bearing (it is one of our country's founding principles).
I understand that McCain has a son flying for AA (from his first marriage). Has anyone ever flown with him?

Were you not paying attention to the numbers of people who voted during the primaries?

Cosworth,

Methinks that AA Tulsa Mechanic not ONLY wasn't paying attention to the 08' primary's,.......he seems to have had a Mental Lapse at the Elections, (or JETTISON'S) of the 2006 Election

I HOPE that NO ONE in Oklahoma thinks for a "NY Minute" that a VP Joe Biden will be a "YES MAN" for a president Obama, like bush was a YES MAN for dirty DICK

Well, Lets look at what your patriotic, hand over the heart, blessed first lady, president at the current time has gotten us.. NOTHING but PAIN and SUFFERING!!!!

We have not been attacked since 9/11, unemployment at 6% (not great but not bad), majority of homeowners own their homes and pay their mortgages even though foreclosusures are up. I don't see a lot of pain and suffering out there. Just yesterday I was at the mall where I live and could not find a parking space. Not exactly tough times. Quit looking at the glass as half empty.

Yes, we haven't been attacked in 7 years. It was 8 and a half years between attacks under Clinton, and Bush has failed as miserably as Clinton in getting bin laden. Score - even

In my town, Sprint just announced MORE layoffs and the company they spun off announced another 1,000 layoffs. As a matter of fact, my next door neighbor was a victim of the latest round of Sprint layoffs. Sprint has a tendency to layoff folks that are over 40...my neighbor is 60. The job market isn't exactly hopping out there for 60 olds, even if they have 2 MBA's (as my neighbor does). If he can't find something by December, he's most likely going to have to sell his house and move. I'll miss him.

Unemployment is up, and the jobs that ARE available are paying less than they were 8 years ago.

I am 58 and hired 18 months ago and make way more than I used to. I know, I am very fortunate but it can happen to others.

Yesterday, I picked up a younger black man and his 4 yr old son on the side of the highway who had run out of gas. A week ago, my girlfriend and I drove past an older man sitting in his car, he acted like he had some kind of problem, we stopped. He said he needed some gas money. We offered ten bucks, then parked, and went shopping. When we came back to our car, I found a receipt for ten bucks of gas from the QuickTrip across the street under my windshield wiper. Don't tell me times aren't tuff . Leave the burbs, OPEN YOUR EYES and look around...

All I can say to that is, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
And exactly what relationship to Phil Gramm are you?

Leave the burbs, OPEN YOUR EYES and look around...

I know some people are are having a rough time. I'm not stupid. There will always be poor people who need and hand and we should be willing to help. Poor people have been around for a long time, even before George Bush.

Finally someone gets it. Fed bench appointments are for life. We definitely do not need more republican activist judges on the bench for the next 30 or 40 years. The courts have already swung to far over to the right.

The fact that we have not been attacked merely means we have not been attacked. There is no bases for saying what the causation is.

I would argue that there is no reason for them to attack us. They already have us chasing our tail. We are $9,000,000,000,000 in debt. China, Japan and the EU own this country lock, stock and barrel. Our car manufactures are looking for a $50,000,000,000 bail out. The airlines are all loosing money with the exception of a few like SWA. Salaries are going down not up. Cost of living is increasing. Foreclosures are at a record high. And since you were unable to indicate when this happened last (you said it was cyclical), the last time this happened was during the depression. I deal with credit in my new job and most of the people I deal with are not able to qualify due to the fact that they are in debit up to their eye hole.

Debt Stats

# Total U.S. consumer debt (which includes credit-card debt and non-credit-card debt but not mortgage debt) reached $2.55 trillion at the end of 2007, up from $2.42 trillion at the end of 2006. (Source: The Nilson Report)
# Total U.S. consumer revolving debt reached $962 billion in May 2008, up from $879 billion at the end of 2006. About 98 percent of that debt was credit card debt. (Source: Federal Reserve)

I would argue that you need to pull your head out of the sand and look around. Stop spouting off personal observations (they mean nothing) and look at statistics that cover a wide spectrum. Just because George Burns lived till 100 and smoked does not mean smoking is healthy. It means George Burns smoked till he was 100. Nothing more. Statistically, he was lucky to have lived as long as he did.
