Oh Piney....It's not WWE...it's just the way things are. I was against the Patriot act from the git go. I tried telling these folks who were willing to let their rights be trampled in the name of "the war on terror" that it set a precedent for another president to infringe on that one amendment they do care about...number 2...the right to bear arms. I honestly think that many folks on the right would have been happy to omit the other nine amendments and call it "the bill of right".

Well...I base that on the fact that so many had absolutely no issue with the infringement on the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments. In fact, if one pointed out that your rights were being infringed, it was met with everything from "if you don't have anything to hide, you don't have anything to worry about" to "you just want to see another terrorist attack on our shores". So I inferred that it wasn't a problem that these rights were infringed without the due process as outlined in the constitution. I don't own guns, but while I was trying to warn the folks on the right that allowing an infringement on any of your rights could and would open the door to infringement on other rights...even the right to bear arms. The infringement of no less that 3 of the rights granted under the constitution caused hardly a ripple of dissent from the right. The mere thought of banning armor piercing bullets has those same folks making a mad rush to the local gun store. Why?

Sorry, it's not just the right who is willing to sacrifice freedom for 'security'. By throwing patriotism and the flag in peoples face, he got both sides to cower. I suspect that quite a few in Congress had no interest in invading Iraq, but due to popular sentiment and their desire to keep their power, they acquiesced. Why Bush and Cheney lied and did what they did I do not know, but the fact that Congress chickened out and put their job ahead of doing their job makes them more culpable than Bush in some ways. This country has a history of sacrificing personal freedoms for 'freedom'. Look at the Japanese Americans during WWII, McCarthy ... our history is littered with examples.

If you think that people an the left are not as paranoid as the right, I think you are mistaken.

Thanks guys but I don't need to watch a 2 hour you tube video to know that we live in a one party system or that Pro Wrestling is more real then the statements from our elected officials.

What the last 9 years have shown us is the political fraud is an Equal Opportunity practice. Black, White, Red or Yellow, Conservative, Liberal, Democrat or Republican it doesn't matter If you work hard stay honest you've a place in our society and that place is under the thumb of Government.

I didn't find it to be 2 hrs long. You might find it interesting that we are being maneuvered into a New World Order of European socialism.
