Is Thanksgiving Bookings down Everywhere

Back to topic here...

Thanksgiving bookings on the West side are pretty good. Wednesday's loads are full to oversold, Thursday light, Friday looks like a typical Friday, as does Saturday, but SUNDAY. All I can say is HOLY S*** I'm glad I'm off. Loads in PHX are in the 90%'s, and that's authorization, not capacity.

Actually, I find the flights on the West coast very very full. I'm hoping and praying I get where I'm going--It'll be my birthday and I don't want to spend it in PHX.

Wanna know what I do sometimes when I know that flights will be full with holidays and I want something real bad? Even though I work for an airline?

Lean over and I'll tell ya!

I buy an airline ticket! Can ya believe it? JOY!

I don't care if loads are down if REVENUES are up! That's all that REALLY matters -- plus one of us may actually get to where we want to go for the holiday!

And in reality, I don't think loads are down -- I think they're more spread out. People don't rush to get to wherever they're going only on Wednesday anymore and back on Sunday -- It's more spreadout. I mean a quick glance of flights between a big, mid-western hub airport of OAL and PHX, for example shows both Wednesday and Thursday flights 88% full or better. Even a few years ago, if more than 50 people were on any 1 flight on Thanksgiving day -- you knew they were non-revs or ya felt sorry for them. But now, it's just another travel day...
