What's new

It's out
Kev....what would you say the general consensus is in your station?.You are in one of the 40?...What will you do if the bumping comes your way?
I am in one of the 40 stations that would remain open.

On the ramp= All but one of the eligible voters (we have a lot of new PT'ers) have said they'll vote "no" on the proposal. Everyone, however, has said they'll vote "yes" for a strike.

At the counter= Tough to call. Several are, quite frankly, scared out of their wits. The misinformation among them is mind-boggling. A few had previously said they'd cross any picket line.
Most of the more senior agents are just waitng for any bumping to take advantage of the severance package, and would then transition to retirement.

What would I do if bumped? Good question. I just bid back here in Oct., and have a 5 month old at home, so I'm not really sure I'd want to commute. Of course, it's easy to say that now. I'm currently an ESL, so that may help a little as far as staying out of the crossfire, though I'm assuming it won't. If I couldn't hold my station anymore (in any classification), I'd probably bump MSP-it's closer than DTW.

Thankfully Kev...you seem to be aware of the real isues that are meaningful.I have come accross the same things here...at first,we had some people saying the same things, that they would cross picket lines and such. But now...with a little more information in their heads they see just where their 40 bucks a month got them.I'm not sure, but DTW would most likely be where I'd bump to.I do have friends in other stations, some where I have actually worked before, but it would be much harder to get back and forth.Maybe one day we can raise the curtain and share some war stories.....

Sounds great!

Is this what you meant?

Each man spends 3 days in the hub(24 hours), and works 2 double shifts on day 1+3(16 hours) Total hours 40 with "4" days off plus any OT on day 2

R T "BEAR",

Yes, your right, the 3 ON, 4 OFF would work too.

Also, My "Math" was WRONG on the 4 ON, 3 OFF scenario.

glad you "picked it up" !

I've known for a long time, that your a Smart "Lad"

Kev...have you been polling any of the inbound pilots on the "state of the vote"?..I have and the general feeling is that most people are against the proposal..what have you heard as of late on this POS....

Most of pilots/FA's I've spoken with say that the general feeling system wide is for a "no" vote-probably 80%ish, using my wholly unscientific survey (Of course, some inflight crews can't ever be bothered into talking to ground ops folks, so they have no idea what the "state of the sysytem" is).

According to the ones who do, the only people that are entertaining a "yes" vote are those that want to take the severance/retirement and run.

As an aside, I spoke to a friend in MSP tonight, who says the general feeling there is for a "no" vote....Same story in PDX, for what it's worth.

cant blame them for voting no to a stinkin a** contract that means the loss of more of your fellow co workers.

I am getting about a 60% no vote on my end of this. I think your numbers are more accurate though.

KEV,
Good choice(MSP)

I'd Imagine the quality of life, AND quality of WORK life is much better in MSP, plus #94 should be a good road(non winter), and it looks like MSN/MSP about 200 miles ??

Yo Kev,
have you heard anything new about the disposal proposal?Anybody figure out how much B.D. got paid to leave the table with that POS?

The latest "word" I have is from a General Chair I spoke to today who thinks that the COPFS book will pass and that the ESSC book will be rejected. Since this was just his gut feeling based on his recent travels to various stations, take it with a grain (or fistfuls) of salt.

As for kickbacks for DePace? Who knows, but I'm sure he's not hurting for anything.... Can you imagine him having to come back and work on the ramp? I wonder how long he'd last?

Work'n short and Red Tail Bear--

Just curious;have either of you guys voted yet? If so, how was turn out at your station(s)?

I voted to impeach Bobby Disgrace.....as far as the disposal proposal..obviously everyone here is voting NO.I also hear rumor that there will be a class action suit filed if this POS go's through???..can't imagine why anyone would be pissed off at the I.A.M after lining their pockets for 20 years with their dues money ,then they decide not to represent you anymore?....nice..real nice.
