I am in one of the 40 stations that would remain open.
On the ramp= All but one of the eligible voters (we have a lot of new PT'ers) have said they'll vote "no" on the proposal. Everyone, however, has said they'll vote "yes" for a strike.
At the counter= Tough to call. Several are, quite frankly, scared out of their wits. The misinformation among them is mind-boggling. A few had previously said they'd cross any picket line.
Most of the more senior agents are just waitng for any bumping to take advantage of the severance package, and would then transition to retirement.
What would I do if bumped? Good question. I just bid back here in Oct., and have a 5 month old at home, so I'm not really sure I'd want to commute. Of course, it's easy to say that now. I'm currently an ESL, so that may help a little as far as staying out of the crossfire, though I'm assuming it won't. If I couldn't hold my station anymore (in any classification), I'd probably bump MSP-it's closer than DTW.
