So your ok with Tim telling your group not to organize and post on Anti-Union, Pro-Delta pages on Facebook bashing the IAM and posting misinformation?
Im sure kev prolly disagrees with me but please tell me one solid reason to organize jetblue or delta other than for the iam to get dues of maybe 10% of those it organizes?
If you organize a ramp group like jetblue, there is nothing the union can do other than watch all the rampers lose their jobs and get contracted out except maybe a couple hundred in jfk. Tommy just didnt listen as i focused on airtran since the contracting out risk was limited due to cross utilization.

And at delta, you and i both know that delta will immediately contract out almost all rampers and certainly ALL cargo. But the iam may bag a few thousand rampers in ATL. Thats it.

a pt'er at LUS is considered out of class for FT overtime they would only get called for fulltime if the FT list is exhausted

I agree 100% . Delta rampers should never organize. They'll lose everything no matter who they went with.

Same at AA.

They will, except maybe ATL ramp. All cargo would be contracted out before a contract. Most of the 42 stations will also be whacked. And the few remaining wouldnt get a pay raise/cut until a new contract is signed in 6 years. Not trying to be insensitive but thats the story. There is no logical reason to think otherwise.

Yeah sure ok can't replace that many people and the operation would suffer.

I agree.

If DL were to go union  Itd be not just ATL but Id say most if not all their hubs/focus cities where they have mainline   I cant see just ATL esp given their other hubs

First off, when companies contract out, those being contracted out are mostly the new hires for the vendor. Otherwise, im sure they wont have a problem hiring even at ridiculous wages. The big problem is that all airlines contract out ramps now once they go union. Spirit decided to keep fll but those peeps were better off without that iam contract since it has wages worst than mcdonals, no protection.nothing.

Using logics, the absolute most delta would keep may be atl msp dtw lga....maybe. no cargo anywhere.

Don't know why we're talking about Delta in an AA thread anyway? Their drive is over anyway and like Tim said it would be a fools errand. They'd cut their own throats deep.

Let's get this back on topic. There's a thread for Delta organizing already.

We definately need badging language. Paid time and appointments similar to cwa.

Tim I agree w you on that. Hopefully our negotiating committee can bring that up if not already done so

They do. Go on shift.

Article 27(p)..."an employee who is required to obtain or renew airport badges will be afforded that opportunity during his scheduled shift."

Looks like AA already has it? This should be easy language to keep, since a badge is required, and there's not a whole lot of "ask" that comes with it, given that people are already on the clock...
