I have heard this a ton, especially from 700. Let me ask, is it better for us or the company that it's not section 6 and is JCBA?
I'll tell you what if we weren't promised such a big raise I wouldn't want anything to do with a joint contract, I wouldn't care if it took ten years

Can we get back on topic? Had to scroll through a lot of white noise. Focus.
We're discussing (and maybe learning) about negotiations. Is there a particular way you'd like to discuss (Or maybe control) the narrative?

Our next negotiations update will be out on Friday as usual.

Let's clarify one important issue. The current JCBA talks verse normal Section 6 Collective Bargaining talks. Very big difference. The floor is open for discussion on the difference between the two. Let's first know the playing field we, as a collective group, are on. More importantly, what the options are for the company.
We've discussed that and have continued to discuss that multiple times. Please share your opinion on those differences since you've said they're very big?

Well for one thing not having a Joint Contract is detrimental to the company to achieve many different synergies that I'm sure they want to implement. UAL was able to live without it for many years but because of it their operations still suffer to this day.

For us take LGA as an example. US IAM members cannot touch our aircraft or our work. That creates a headache in both staffing and what gates they can put planes on. If they had to place a AA flight on a US gate then they would have to scramble to get an AA crew on it.

PSA would have been a nightmare had they not come to an agreement before cutover.

I really think you'll like the changes when they finally get here?

A simpler solution...The IAM shouldve CONCEDED!!! like the other labor unions!
Wasn't going to happen with big daddy Trumka holding the yardstick and tapping his knees.

It all comes down to leverage at the table. I just want members to know there is a big difference between the two. I'm not convinced most members appreciate or understand the difference. We may be floating between updates but there are many credible and pertinent issues to be discussed while we wait. Many follow without posting. We owe to them to stay on issues related to them. JCBA talks vs. Section 6 Negotiations. Two very different playing fields. let's educate.

Please discuss the difference between the two as you see them? Again you're saying that there is a big difference. How so?

I will eventually weigh in on the issue. There is a difference. The floor is open to pertinent discussion concerning our negotiations. I'm sure there are many veteran posters who understand the difference. Anyway... it sure beats off topic discussion.

Why can you not weigh in on it now? You brought it up and we have readers who may want to understand what those differences are?

49 readers right now.

Yeah right rotating days off
Ok I get your point at least on that one.

(For the readers. That's something specific in LGA and JFK only)

Yeah it would be hard to understand simply because it  so ridiculous

Why would anyone with seniority want rotating days off? I'm assuming WP (38 years) was being sarcastic.

As sarcastic as a mother ---- what gets me it's only 2 cities that have them and certain jobs in those cities have fixed days off. Another kick in the a$$ is that at LGA LUS has more flights then LAA but by virtue of their business model are out numbered by over 50 bodies  so we are going to be TWU
