where are the guys who embezzled pension funds ? still there?
You should consider this.

"The DOL’s lawsuit seeks a court order requiring the defendants to restore any losses suffered by the fund due to the alleged violations and requiring the fund to implement reforms to prevent future ERISA violations."

How I see that is the IAMPF Trustees will (If not already) make the required changes to stay out of hot water with the DOL. Once accomplished if the DOL back off from their suit they should ask for a copy of the order to assuage any more fears that the fund is being taken advantage of or being invested in unwise financial options.

The suit in itself being filed may have been a blessing in disguise even if it did shake the members confidence in it?

A copy of the order to assuage any more fears?

You are hilarious.
Let me remind you, there were rules and laws already in place when they decided to play fast and loose with them, another one written that everyone has copies of will not change anyones will to break the law.

The blessing of this suit was :
it proved the IAM is dirty
it showed how flimsy your retirement money is when some else other than YOU control it
and it didn't shake my confidence in the pension fund, it Galvanized my Opposition to being mandated into it simply by passing a TA with a nice raise.

Question for you and 700, If the DOL don't file the lawsuit, does the IAM self disclose the wrongdoing to the membership?

The answer to that question is obvious and yet another reason, I and everyone I know at LAA, want Nothing to do with the IAMPF, at any rate or formula they attach to it.

You don't even know to to comprehend what the DOL said.

No one was charged civilly or crimanly with embezzlement.
spin it how ever you want I could care less . Bottom line is another blackeye and another reason for trust issues with the membership

Did you control your money during the Global Economic collapse? You're living in a fantasy world if you really think you control ANY of your money. Tell it to the Greeks or even worse, the Venezualans.

Want to play a game? Tell me one investment you have that you think is 100% secure? Go ahead.

Who controls your 401k really? Not you.

Wrong.
I can go to cash or bonds, whenever I decide to.
When I retire, I can move my 401 money into other vehicles of MY choice.
Not possible with the pension fund.

It's not even a close call. Anyone advocating the IAMPF over a 401 is a mouthpiece for the union heads.

I trust investment firms, hedge fund managers, banks and Wall Street speculators personally.

Yea that's it. They'll take care of me as well as my Mother used to.

Cash. Yea that's it. No such thing as fires that burn paper. Or how about out of control inflation? Did I mention Venezuela?

Only one guarantee in life bro. Death.

Hey what year was it that everyone's 401k got murdered? 2008 something like that?

BTW who advocated anyway? I want BOTH. The IAMPF isn't going to prevent me from continuing to put 20% into my 401k. Is there a law that stops you from doing that, that I'm unaware of?

So when you run out of substance, you revert to ,

well we're all going to die anyway, so why worry about the ride down?

Classic and typical.

When you run out of substance you revert to theft and murder. Or you starve.

I wonder how big those IAM letters are that are tattooed across his chest??

Wait a minute. I want this done ASAP. So I'm the guy who's off and everyone wants to wait 5 years? Well I'm sorry but we are NOT going to wait 5 years for this no matter want anyone out there wants. The Association is going to screw us and have this done before the end of the year absolutely.

Duly noted.
