Keep telling yourself that. IGM'er...

Economics. How many more years are you going to wait for squat over there where you work swamt?

BTW, Too many stupid phrases floating around out there like IGM, An injustice to one, Industry Leading, Etc. All comments that can be twisted by whoever wants to use them just to try and manipulate others.

Again. Poppycock.

That's Eddie "Fitzy" Fitzpatrick's (IBEW 2222 Verizon/New England Bell) line. He retired a few years ago but he is still out and in his element when they have negotiations and rallies. Your Irish Catholic big labor brethren.

Josh

TWU's International President Irish John Samuelsen is a fan of Boston's own Union proud Dropkick Murphys.

"The boys are back and they're looking for trouble"

Harry Lombardo didn't last? Seems all the union presidents are Irish or Italian Catholic at least around New England. Never mind the historical hostility towards and prejudice against blacks, Jews, hispanics and other ethnic groups with a tradition of a strong work ethnic and willingness to undercut their cushy workrules and salary demands. Especially in the Boston area people here think they're tolerant and progressive but the reality is our area remains culturally segregated and that is through no small part of the big labor establishment.

Wings you are super out of touch if that's what you think. Look at what the management/unorganized plans and premiums are, they took a beating in 2012 and pay substantially more than the organized groups. I'm sure the G2 or Eulen America employees would happily work under the TWU agreement even at bottom of the scale for those benefits.

Healthcare costs for everyone keeps increasing. What's unfortunate for all of us is that no one in congress wants to address the cost increases because the likes of the AMA and American Hospital Association are powerful lobbies and all that seems to get addressed is the shifting of the dollars, not cost containment.

Your healthcare could have been reworked in the 2014 agreement but the company didn't in good faith and even kept the placeholder language of a single mainline departure to remain staffed.

For a job that only requires a HS diploma, drivers license and successful clearance of (an increasingly thorough) background check, you guys do remarkably well and most workers in the US would willingly trade places with you. You are where you are today because decades ago someone made an arbitrary, and highly subjective hiring decision in your favor.

Josh
That's a pretty bold statement there Joshie, given that you know nothing of me nor my background. I can assure you that when I got hired, that the bar was set a bit higher than it is today with what's coming thru the door. At that time the airline industry was a highly sought after job, and they could turn you away with no fear of any type of discrimination. I had to do a panel interview with the local Station manager along with 3 supervisors, one from each dept. IF you had any clue, you would know that's no longer the way things go.
You on the other hand, don't even work for the company, but continue to post your IAM hatred with a raging hard-on. Before the merger, you were bashing US non-stop, but have now become a TWU & IAM specialist, dropping names on a regular basis. I seem to recall that you were in the financial market, so you must have a strong link and interest to the company or the union for some odd reason.

great post wings and spot on about this guy, he could care less about any LUS or LAA employee he has one agenda

You will see when the T/A comes out.

A Union is a collective swamt in case you didn't realize. So it's not about ultimately what comes out but if or by how much it passes the voting.

Fleet. TA passes:

51% to 59%, mediocre (blah)
60% to 69%, not too shabby
70% to 79%, good solid contract
80% to 90%, a fantastic agreement
90% to 100%, I'll eat my shorts if it happened

So the contract we all work under now, is just blah, the membership voted it in by 58.72%
And the UA contract that got rid of all stations except the hubs that was voted in at >90%

Our current TWU agreement was forged through a gun being held to our heads by a Bankruptcy Judge. Not exactly something I'm going to count at all if it was basically do or die.

Are you talking about the UAL agreement under Smisek or the new one they just got under Munoz?

Either way if it's outside of a Court that the Members made their decision, then there's no choice but to accept it whether you/I/anyone likes it or not. Basically tough luck.

Actually, it's the same other than the wage and an extended drop dead date. Even Klemm stated that they would only open up a few articles (I believe 4). Didn't bother with most of the awful Smisek contract. The bottom line is even though people fuss about things, contract votes historically come down to wages. Most members don't even read so they take a cheat sheet from the union bosses which highlight the few good items. Forget the bad items.

And as much fussing we may do here, LAA will control any vote and will gladly vote for a TA with $32 and a signing bonus. Their mantra is "Contract Now". Desperate. I've even had your own guys in MIA on my massive FB group say that they concede part time issues because your contract language doesn't reflect a post merger company on part time. Everything is justified for them who don't want to wait. I encourage all LUS members to get in touch with their AGC's and insist that they not go along with the AIG from Sito and executive committee which canned LUS insurance.

This!

I've been saying this all along, once the huge gobs of cash are dangled on a stick, most, if not all will fold like a cheap suit.

Dangled but also backed up by Union Bosses. The Union Bosses usually say, "Well, there were some things we just couldn't get but we wanted you to vote on it and if you vote no, the next one will be worse and it may take another 5 years....but we want you to vote."

Obviously, fake news as it won't necessarily take 5 more years and it won't necessarily be worse, but that's what the union bosses will say.

I don't know anything about your FB group page Tim. You ain't got the guts to engage me there without chucking me off bro. Very disappointing.

Don't you keep running to be one of those "Union Bosses" yourself? LMAO.

Al, or any LUS, have any of you seen the health care costs for next year, and what is the run down, core, standard, value.? If it works like that for you guys.
