Did the TWU decide to try and quiet the masses by inserting that little IAM solidarity piece.
Not buying it. Lets see something on the Association or IAM releases and also see if Sito or any IAM members show up. For the time being, I will assume the TWU is playing me for a fool. I have no problem being wrong, and quite honestly, I hope I am.

Not protecting existing work goes against the principles and nature of organized labor. The long term affect is the loss of leverage in future contract negotiations. Regardless if the battle exists in the outline, larger or hub stations. Organized labor needs to stop this loss of protected work to outsourcing across the board. Glad to see it has become a major issue with MTC. and Related. Long term thinking is critically needed with this issue with every member. Threats of bumping and seniority loss is counter productive. The focus should be the long term benefit of protecting existing work. Without this protection; many will question the long term benefits of being a member of any labor organization. As the snowball rolls downhill it gains size and mass. With organized labor having to fight "tooth and nail" to organize new membership; you would think they would be especially vigilant of protecting existing work. We shall see.
Adding to your point ograc unlike our US/AA ASS. Brothers/Sisters who work CLP and M/R Class/Craft we have more then 50% FS working PT . AAL/DP are still trying to make F/S a PT job and that affects ALL who are FT/FS . Fish On !

That was not written by the TWU International. That was written and I'm sure approved by TWU Local 502. I don't think they need to explain what the meaning of it is IMO.

Again it's their picket in Solidarity with Local 591 (and with IAM support)

I hear ya W, you are correct in your opinion, in my opinion. 🙂

To all ASS. Members do you think that TWU/Locals/HUBS Info-pickets are more about the job loss that could affect M/R C/C or FS C/C ? My bet is AAL/DP wants to continue to OS as many M/R jobs as possible in JCBA's and those Members have the most to loose $$$ Good Luck !

Thanks man. It's gonna be dramatic around here that's for sure.

I don't really think it should matter. IMO we should support any and all Labor Unions in our Industry if they ask and need us. But especially of course our own Brothers and Sisters.

So Maintenance supports Fleet and Fleet supports Maintenance. The way it always should be.

AA as you know wanted to OS catering and deicing, and PRez also stated those weren't the only jobs they wanted to OS on the Fleet side, although he did not give any details. I would combine that with what you mentioned about PT, and say this is just as important on the Fleet side as it is on M/R side. Obviously the more cheap help they can get in here, the more the AA management and shareholders can line their pockets. When they wan't to outsource so much when making Billions, that speaks volumes about the greed.

WeAA. I hear MIA n possibly other fla cities shutting down. Where are they ferrying the planes to

Don't know if they're ferrying too many things anywhere robbed? They seem to be having issues with (cough cough) Flight Crews coming to work. They got them stacked up like dominoes across at the hanger and the gates are packed too.

This company is not your friend when they sit across the negotiating table from you. Wanting increased outsourcing and PT while making billions is nothing but corporate greed. A battle both bargaining units are having to fight against. Sad.

The majority are probably South Florida based. Not much of an incentive that I can think of to be away from your homes and families for an event like this. Granted they'd be safer getting the hell out of dodge but, sorry.
