JET BLUE LANDS IN PIT-JFK-BOS-JAX

I think we can discuss this topic without resorting to name calling. Thank you.

I stand by my original statement. The numbers reflect that USAirways customers are WILLING to endure PHL's dismal facilities, as you, yourself have admitted. You are WILLING to endure it because you evidently continue to CHOOSE USAirways for your travel needs. You have plenty of options. Yet, YOU CHOOSE

We are forced when we want to stick with USAirways, which I would still prefer to support them. However I have lately found that given the choice of PHL or any other airline, the other airlines get my money.

Connections are not convenient either, i.e. last week PIT-MCI via CLT-8 hours house to hotel. Now I love the CLT airport and it's OK when going south, but not west from PIT. Next week PIT-MCI-via United and MCI-PIT-via Midwest NONSTOP. I feel like I'm turning on an old friend, but it's a matter of convenience, and not enduring that POS PHL.

your customers ARE forced thru PHL unless we come up with some creative routing. I would know....I do it weekly.
Jamake is correct. If you are transferring through PHL, you are doing it by CHOICE (or if you are O/D-ing at PHL, lots of other airlines serve PHL without the drama LCC seems to have there.) There are lots of airlines in the U.S. There are lots of ways to avoid LCC at PHL.

Do you people NOT READ? I said I purposely AVOID PHL by creative flight scheduling. YES WE ALL KNOW that there are other airlines out there and I do fly them too so I can avoid PHL. UA and NW have gotten a lot of business out of me because I want to avoid PHL. Since the dehubbing of PIT, US moved a lot of PIT flights to PHL and some to CLT. And on certain common routes I fly I can't even get to my destinations via CLT it seems as more flights have been pushed thru PHL.

You hit on everything in that post. Well said.

Changes need to be made in the near future or things are going to continue to spiral downward. My company is starting to shuttle business through Newark (which isn't much better) rather than PHL because of these problems.

If any of you think that the new US is going to take all this lying down. 😀
They won't back down. Crystal city is gone. Tempe doesn't back down from a fight.
You will find out soon enough. 😉

Preparing to engage the enemy. 😉

Who is the enemy? JBLU or LUV?

Tempe backs down from LUV, Parker said so himself within the last couple of months on a conf call with analysts.

That being said, I would like US Airways to add flights in PIT. Connecting westbound would be a breeze vs PHL. Also alleviate PHL delays...(Sorry about the thread creep...)

Delays at PHL will be a breeze when tinicum township in New Jersey allows Philadelphia to expand its Runways. To my knowledge, there is tremendous pressure on the township to allow runway expansion.

You would think that (in terms of dealing with competition at PHL) SW is the enemy. Last year, SW had tons of momentum in PHL, then all of a sudden, here comes the merger. US has all the momentum it needs at PHL. SW expansion has slowed drastically. Recent reports said they may not even get the two gates they were hoping to receive by the end of this summer.

I hope US continues to expand its service both domestically and internationally at PHL. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the runway project gets a go so delays will not happen as much as they do and US can continue to expand its service with ease.

I know, a bit of off topic but here in Upstate NY we ARE again forced to fly through PHL if we want to stay with US. The article states that US has lost 26.8% since de-hubbing PIT in 2004. See the article:

My guess is that US has lost quite a bit of passangers, many who have now adjusted to life without PIT and moved on to other carriers, at least from BGM. It doesn't help when most of the connecting flights are gone from PIT; options are not what they used to be for the connecting passenger.
