Subject: Number "crunching"
I've been crunching some numbers this morning following receipt yesterday of the packet of material from APFA on the LBFO balloting.
The proposed rate of pay at date of signing + 60 (say approx August, 2017) is $ 50.54. Do you realize that our base rate for Domestic in 2003, prior to the RPA pay cut was $ 50.59??? Our International base rate at that time was $ 54.05!
This Company (and "union") thinks we are going to ratify something that has us.....for all intents and purposes......working until 2017, and most likely when you add in negotiations to follow this contract, until three or four years after that......making less than we did in 2003?
I'll take my chances and fight for something better regardless of how uncertain the future is. I won't willing accept it. Period.
Voted NO.
Best to you all,
J
